My little family and I came for the first time, on a not so busy, Sunday afternoon. This place is a mouth-watering heaven. The food was decently priced while having good quality food! I love my chicken shoyu ramen. Normally, I dread eating anything with chicken in it, but my bowl made my pallet sing because of how tender their chicken it is. I stole a taste of my husband's Dumpling ramen, and OH, it's to live for! I definitely want that next time I come visit. What I appreciate the most about the food here is that I don't feel bombarded with sodium. It was just the right amount of flavor to enjoy every nook and cranny of the bowl while feeling full and satisfied. I also really recommend their cold green milk tea. (I believe it was called. Sorry if I butchered the name)
You can't go in and miss the tiny electric colored fish in the tank. They are so vibrant and adorable to watch. The atmosphere has a modern clean feel to it. Just simple elements of decore that tell you what kind of food you're eating and are not in your face. This is good so you can concentrate better on how delicious their food is. My family loved looking at the Chinese drama on the big screen. I liked how the TV is decorated with greenery underneath while making it easy on the eyes.
I asked what to recommend any food for my little one. There wasn't a kids' menu, but the nice lady at the counter made a good suggestion on their chicken fried rice. Oh, and if you have a kid whose diaper needs to be changed, the bathroom has a changing table! That definitely made me a happy mama.
I love this place so much that I told some friends later that day about how good this place is!
Other than the fact that you'd have to pay for and take the time to find parking, I have no complaints about the...
Read moreWhen we arrived, my wife and I looked at the menu and ordered the chicken katsu Ramen and chicken hibachi plate specifically because these two items were advertised with no shellfish, as my wife is allergic. We got our food and her hibachi plate came out with a Crab Rangoon sitting in the middle. Upsetting, but not their fault since we didn't specify the allergy. They replaced the food, albeit they took even longer to make it than the first one. My Ramen bowl came out and sitting in the middle is a fish cake. I picked the chicken katsu because it's one of the only Ramens on their menu that did not have fish cake, as that too is a potential allergen.
I'm sitting with my food in front of me waiting for my wife to get her replacement, and when she does, we begin to eat and the food isn't even good. The Ramen broth was flavorless and everything in the bowl suffered from it. The chicken katsu was overcooked. Too crispy and had become stringy and tough. The hibachi plate was okay, but there are certainly better in little rock. Overall we would have been better off going to a Chinese buffet. I recommend others...
Read moreGold Bowl nestled at the edge of the River Market about close to the Marriot and the Doubletree Hotel. Menu isn’t overwhelming and the food is delicious. The ramen is great! I highly recommend the Chashu bowl and I added kim chi for some pickled spice. The lo mein was amazing !! The takoyaki was very tasty and the texture from slight crisp to soft was perfect-melt in your mouth. The sesame chicken, perfect amount of sweetness, crisp and tenderness!— (side note: this was my first time at the place so I’ll probably adjust the stars later. )
update 8/22/23 I was somewhat disappointed with this visit.. this was my 4th time there— today my Chashu broth was warm and the takoyaki wasn’t crisp or hot as if the dishes were either reheated or sitting out for a few. Maybe it was just a bad day, but hopefully they correct...
