Ambiance and Atmosphere: Detroit Bagel Factory has a cozy, local deli vibe that makes you feel right at home. It’s a no-frills spot, but it’s the kind of place where you can tell the focus is on the food. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch stop.
Menu and Food Quality: The pizza bagel was a pleasant surprise. While it’s premade with a plain bagel topped with pizza sauce, cheese, and optional pepperoni, the flavors come together nicely once heated. The cheese, in particular, stands out as quite delicious. The bagels themselves are good, though they are smaller compared to some other bagel chains. I asked for less cream cheese than the typical New York style, which usually involves a thick layer almost the size of the bagel itself, and they accommodated my request maybe a little Too much. Their toasted bagels with cream cheese are reminiscent of Einstein’s Bagels but with a local twist.
Service: The staff at Detroit Bagel Factory are friendly and accommodating. There was a bit of a delay with my order, possibly due to a staff member being in training, and it seemed like there could have been more teamwork among the staff. Considering I was the only customer at the time, the service could have been a bit faster. However, the staff's friendliness and willingness to accommodate my requests made up for it.
Value for Money: For a local deli in an area with few fast food or bagel chain options, Detroit Bagel Factory offers great value. The prices are reasonable, and supporting a local business adds extra value to the experience.
Cleanliness: The deli is clean and well-maintained.
Special Notes or Highlights: The pizza bagel, despite being premade, is a standout item worth trying. The deli’s smaller bagels are perfect for a quick, satisfying meal without feeling overly stuffed. Supporting a local business is always a plus, and Detroit Bagel Factory is a solid choice for bagel lovers in the area.
Conclusion: Detroit Bagel Factory provides a delightful local option for bagels and quick bites. While the bagels are smaller and the pizza bagel is premade, the quality and taste make up for it. The friendly service, despite a slight delay, and reasonable prices make it a great spot to support. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, it’s a reliable choice for a...
Read moreFor a Midwest, Detroit area bagel place, they are ok- They are small for price-
Today I found out that they do not slice your bagels unless you put something on it - When I asked why they wouldn’t be able to slice it she curtly informed me it was for liability reasons- don’t you face the same liability when you slice it and add something? I have never had this experience at any other bagel shop.
Unfortunately, they aren’t consistent in the amount of cream cheese they give you- A couple servers will give you only about a small amount which thinly covers one side of the bagel - certainly not worth the extra charge - then there’s a couple other staff who will give you a thick layer
Their prices are inconsistent. Today I got a bagel, not sliced, and it was $1.10 I know that tax is not 10%. Then a couple weeks ago I got an onion bagel with cream cheese, sliced and it was two dollars-
I used to get the Lox but I was disappointed in my last three purchases - Seemed fatty, too thick, and not fresh😕
This used to be our weekend bagel fix, but not worth the...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill over the years the only thing that's keeping them alive is the loyal local customers. If you want overpriced bagels and cream cheese this is the place for you. The service is incredibly rude the woman Sheila is such a horrible person. She's always got an attitude with customers except for the regulars even when you're regular like myself she's still a horrible mean person to you. The man Greg & the 2 women act as if they expect your business rather than want your business. $120 a month I paid for their sub par breakfast bagel sandwich, cream cheese & salt sticks. I only went 3x's a week. Also the breakfast bagels don't look nothing like the delicious one in the photo. Greg the counter guy eats 25% of the bacon he cooks for the bagels. Thats why the photo has 2 eggs & now its only 1 egg. The employees are ruining this poor mans business. From now on I will drive all the way to the East Side just to get real bagels from Eastside bagel. Or I'll just...
