My friends and I have not eaten at Dino's for many years but decided to try it again today which is Sunday. They open at 11:00am and I pull into the parking lot around 12:00 noon and see there are no cars in the parking lot. Are they even open I wondered? It seemed strange but I still went into the restaurant. I walk through the door and all 4 waitresses are sitting on the bench. Again...very strange. I ask "Are you open"? They said "Yes". I told them I have three other people coming and that we would like a booth by a window. I started to walk into the dining room and one of the waitresses calls out to me "We will be the ones seating you, maam" like she didn't want me walking into the dining room. I repeated that I would like a booth near a window. The waitress takes me to a booth with a blank wall. I repeated again..."I just mentioned to you that I would like a booth near a window". She says "I can't do that. There are 5 servers and the tables are divided up into sections and I cannot give you a seat by the window". That made no sense!! There were no customers in the restaurant but is telling me she could not sit me in a booth near the window?? Besides, let whoever's booth it is that has that section go ahead and wait on us! I sit down where she had told me to sit and the seat was uncomfortable like it was leaning forward. I got up and see a young man walking toward me. I ask him if he will be waiting on my party? He says "Yes". I ask him if we could switch to the booth right next to us telling him that the booth is by the window and the seats more comfortable. He says "Yes". I ask him again "Are you sure it will be ok"? He says "Yes" but hesitatingly and then says "I may get into trouble for it". About that time the other waitresses are starting to come over like they are so bothered that I have asked for a booth by the window when there was no one else in the restaurant. I told them if this is such a problem to get a booth seat by a window when there is no other customers in the restaurant then I'll just leave. So that's what I decided to do because I had three other friends coming to join me of which were elderly and prefer a booth by the window as well so if the staff was making such a big ordeal out of allowing us to sit where we requested to sit, then I was going to take my friends to another restaurant and that's what we did. I have never had such a ridiculous encounter with restaurant employes like this before. We will NEVER attempt to come back here again. If you would like to have a pleasant dining experience, DO NOT...
Read moreAn ok Italian restaurant for food and drink. The atmosphere and decor are great - very warm and inviting. Really captures the essence of an American Italian restaurant. Wasn't too comfortable - the booth seats were much lower than the table height, which felt awkward. Staff was fairly accommodating, very friendly. The breadsticks were ok, fairly standard issue breadstick one would expect, however they also arrive with red sauce to dip them. They were a touch on the dry side, but that is solved by the red sauce. The red sauce was quite disappointing though, as it was tangy and that's about it. No zest at all. It was quite flat compared to many other red sauces I've had. The caesar salad, however, was thoroughly enjoyable. The romaine was crisp and cold, the croutons had the right crispness, the dressing was balanced and not too peppery. I had ordered the Italian combo - spaghetti, chicken parmigiana, lasagna, and manicotti. The plating wasn't impressive in the slightest... everything was covered in red sauce and cheese. I could clearly see the spaghetti, the rest of the items were hidden next to each other. The spaghetti was very mediocre - angel hair pasta that was overcooked. No al dente at all - you were biting into a mushy pile of pasta. The sauce was the same disappointment as the dipping sauce - just tangy like ketchup. The manicotti was ok, no complaints or praises. Same red sauce though. The lasagna was bland as well. No flavors really stood out. Overall, the pasta was mediocre. The chicken parmigiana... someone needs to step back from the breading. Wow. That was the thickest, crunchiest chicken parmigiana I've ever had. It made it somewhat difficult to eat. The fact the it was also covered in the same red sauce was another mark against it, but the cheese helped recover some points. The meal was incredibly filling though - a bit too big on the portion size however.
Overall, an ok place to eat. Some areas need work, but it was a good experience. I was hoping for something much more flavorful and localized than the Italian chain...
Read moreDinos restaurant here in London Kentucky have gone majorly down hill. A few years ago I ordered a calzone to go and when I got home and started to eat it, it was half done, very very doughy in the center. I love pizza calzones but I will personally never get one from the Dino's franchise again. Last night (February 25th, 2021), my mom and dad went to Dino’s to get there philly-cheesestake sandwich meals (comes with fries). We had to wait 15-20 minutes (which is understandable because it was a busy night), for them to get their to-go orders. While my mom was ordering the two meals, the cashier who was ringing everything up could barley hear her, which can cause some confusion when your trying to order because it raises the risk for the wrong orders and customers to get the wrong meals. My mom had ordered two philly cheesestake meals, one with no pepper or onions just Mayo, and the other one with peppers and onions with no Mayo and definitely no mushrooms. (You have to pay extra for the mushrooms). When we got home, my moms had mushrooms, when she didn’t even order mushrooms on her meal, and no onions. My dads meal was full of peppers and onions and didn’t even have Mayo on it when it was suppose to be no peppers or onions, just Mayo. This restaurants cooks or people who assemble the meals got the orders completely messed up and wrong and my entire family is dissatisfied with the whole experience. Earlier I had mentioned that the place was busy at the time we was ordering, yes it was busy but everyone else (4/5 people) was sitting in and eating while me and my mother was the only to-go orders there at that time. We aren’t the only people who have gotten orders which was completely wrong, I’m really hopping in the future the Dino’s manager really looks over the place because more and more people will stop eating there with their orders getting messed up like...
