Follow me for more places to eat, easy recipes, and food + travel recommendations! Edo Higan in Lone Tree, CO - South Denver serves up some epic Kobe Beef that you can cook right on your table with a black stone and delicious sushi! For the tabletop black stone grill you get your choice of protein served on an 800 Degree volcanic rock, served with miso soup. We opted for the Kobe Beef top sirloin. And If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know Mackerel is my go to whenever we go to sushi. They also have an aesthetic“floating sushi boat” you can order with an assortment of nigiri 🍣 and a sushi roll. We also got the Rainbow 🌈 Roll! They have a great roster of sashimi, nigiri, and rolls! Save this for your next sushi date night! #lonetreecolorado #sushi #southdenver #denverrestaurant #denver

Tried this place for the first time since I was craving sushi and happened to be at Park Meadows with some friends. It's a bit on the pricey side for sushi, but the taste was incredible! Yutah, our server, was also amazing and very helpful after learning of my shellfish allergy. The food we got were the tsunami boat which consisted of 20 pieces of nigiri, 18 pieces of sashimi, and 2 specialty rolls. Our boat had an order of fatty salmon included with it. The salmon was so buttery that it felt like it just melted in your mouth. The specialty rolls we ordered were called Orange Hamachi, and Summer Truffle. The Orange Hamachi had some spicy ingredients in it, but were cancelled out from the whole roll being deep fried, but it was still good nonetheless. The Summer Truffle was delicious without having the taste of the truffles overpowering everything else. We also ordered an Oppa roll that maintained its spiciness with the spicy tuna and sliced jalapenos on top. We also ordered 2 orders of Black Porgy and Striped Bass nigiri; both tasted fresh and chose to get them since we don't see that kind of fish offered at other sushi restaurants and were wondering how it tasted. We came during their lunch hours which ends at 3pm and the tsunami boat costs $99. I can't imagine how much it'd cost during dinner hours! They also have Kobe beef offerings cooked and served on a hot stone, but at $65 for 6 oz we opted not to. All in all, it was a great place to try and I'd be willing to go back.

Our friend invited us there for a pricey specialty dish that they don’t even put on the menu. We’ve been welcomed with fanfare because our friend is a patron and seated where we wanted to. He didn’t get any perks for bringing new customers and as a patron though, so I don’t think you get anything but fanfares if you come there often. Since I can’t have sashimi, I skipped the specialty and ordered fried calamari and a portion of Beauty and the Beast rolls. The proportion of calamari and greasy batter was disappointing. I expected them crunchy and just slightly battered but the pieces of calamari were drowning in the mixture. The roll was nice bit a bit lacking taste and slightly loose so that several pieces fell apart when I picked them up. I was told the specialty was great but I never got to try it, so I will speak for myself. They only have one restroom for each gender, and while the restrooms are fairly clean, their doors were appallingly stained from the inside. My table was slightly sticky. The staff was pleasant and helped me pick the right kind of rolls; they refilled the tea and the waters and put away the dishes quickly. In general, I would say that the place is nice but a bit pricey for the food they are serving. For me, there’s nothing special about it.

I have been going here for the last 5 years. It’s never been the best but definitely not the worst. Actually pretty decent for Colorado sushi. Unfortunately after our awesome Govt put the country into a tail spin and pricing changed, some restaurant owners started working and some started working longer shifts. I know that’s what I did for my business as I refuse to raise my prices. I love my customers and appreciate them. I will not hose them. Totally not the same with this restaurant. Their prices went up 33% and their quality stayed the same on some items or went down on some items. They got rid of some of their staff as well. Now I noticed they also seem to have lost half their customers as well. Even the staff that’s still there agree that they have far fewer customers since they raised their prices so much. Today was absolutely horrible. New chef and he was inexperienced and our waiter was also new and inexperienced. Worse when I asked for real soy sauce as I always do he said they don’t carry it! I called him out and low and behold he found it. So I wanted to speak with a manager and was told the managers don’t work during weekdays. Don’t get me wrong here. The waiter was polite and the waitress who is more experienced is wonderful but couldn’t help me without management. She tried though. So it’s indicative of being cheap and trying to hose the customer. Save on labor, reduce staff, buy cheaper stuff and charge more. Hope the customers don’t notice. Their loss. My family of 6 that used to do about once a week found a great place, Sushi Kazu, Japanese owned and operated. Better quality and less money. I was probably leaving them about $600+/month and now it will be far less. Not saying I’ll never go but it will be way way less. I hate...
