This Holey Grail is located on 2nd street in Long Beach. Parking can be a little tough if you are just looking for a place right next to the shop with mostly metered parking available. I'd instead either recommend walking a few blocks over by parking in the neighborhood.
Coming in - the staff was so nice in guiding me through the experience! They informed me that the donuts were dairy free and made from taro. And made on the spot in about 5 minutes! I got the tasting box as well as a vanilla latte over ice (with a bit less of the vanilla syrup). I also was perusing the store while waiting for the donuts and saw a lot of nice Hawaiian-inspired sweets and ended up getting a dark vegan chocolate bar as well.
Inside, the interior has a few tables/seats inside along with a patio area. I also appreciated the vinyl player playing inside.
The donuts came out nice and hot! And thought the packaging had a lot of personality. Our favorite donut was the pandan paradise, which wasn't too sweet and a nice mixture of flavors between the mango/pandan/coconut/passionfruit, followed closely by the miso honey, which had a nice sea salt flavor mixed in with honey. Also appreciated they weren't super big donuts either but had a nice texture and was fluffy on the inside.

Read moreLet's just say it: freshly made donuts hit different, and Holey Grail totally proves that. I'll admit, I was a little curious about their donuts since they use taro flour and are fried in coconut oil. I wasn't sure what to expect! But honestly, you can't even tell the flour is taro. These donuts are seriously delicious. We got to try a few, and here's the rundown: The Reincarnated was a perfect, classic maple. The Hail Mary was really interesting with cardamom and rose – you can definitely taste them, but it's not too much at all. The Lilikoi had this awesome, bright passion fruit frosting. If you like pandan, you'll absolutely love the Pandan Paradise. And the Tropical Swirl was just a great all-around choice.
Holey Grail has really created something special with their unique and incredibly tasty donuts. You should definitely...
Read moreI was on a mission to find some matcha while waiting for my partner to get our burger order from The Win~Dow. Unfortunately, the coffee shop next door didn’t have matcha so I needed to find something quick. I walked by the colorful storefront and noticed the Asian flavored donuts, which immediately had me looking for a drink menu. Lo and behold they had several types of matcha drinks on top of a mocha inspired drink which my partner was looking forward to. The donuts themselves are made out of Taro and made to order, so very warm and delicious! I ended up ordering a matcha with 4 donuts varying from sesame seed to passion fruit flavored. And while the price per donut may seem more than your mom and pop shop, the flavor, uniqueness, and quality of the donut really show for it. Overall, cute shop and happy I...
