AC Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Los Angeles

When you walk in, you are surrounded by luxurious views and the lovely smell of food. My son and I ate here one night for dinner, mainly because we had food credits we needed to use. My son got the shrimp and I got a ceasar salad with salmon. Yes, I know the picture shows chicken on the salad. I would have been okay with their switch if the chicken wasn't so dry and flavorless. That also made me nervous to get the salmon because I do not like dry salmon either. I chose to just send it back and order some fries. Now, these were some of the best fries I have ever had and loved the aioli dipping sauce it came with. The shrimp was also really, really good. I just wish there would have been more of it for the price I paid. After this dinner, I had to take him somewhere else to eat because he was still hungry. Our service was severly lacking also. It took some time for our waitress to come over and even give us water. After taking our order, we didn't see her until after the food came out, which was wrong. We needed water and she didn't even offer after she came to the table to check on how our meals were. We then had to get someone to get her to so we could get the check. Garbage service. The place is gorgeous, the views are amazing, and the ambiance seems great for a lax drink but the service is absolutely terrible. The servers are rude, their customer service skills are awful. At least 3 saw us waiting to be seated and not once acknowledged our presence about coming in a moment. When someone finally came after realizing we wouldn’t leave she had an attitude about us being there. She said “let me check if there’s space at the bar. I don’t think there’s space and I don’t think the tables are clean”. The bar was full and only 3 other tables were being occupied and everything looked perfectly fine. Another server with the same dry attitude signaled we could sit in the middle of the seating area meanwhile a “clean table” came up. Seemed like the servers were just so inconvenienced to do their jobs. Last time I was here for business drinks with an overseas visitor they rudely turned on the lights of the place and told us the bar was closed without a proper professional notice. AC Bar & Lounge at the Moxy/AC Hotel downtown Los Angeles had the BEST service. Horacio was my breakfast waiter and he was fantastic - truly went over the top to make me feel welcome! Special mention to the restaurant manager, Jasmin who was particularly helpful and kind.
