My husband and I have been coming here since this brewery opened. Their beers are astounding! While the quality of their beer may be the same level of dankness now as it was years ago, they unfortunately don't take care of their customers the way they used to.
I've noticed more grab and go orders from long time patrons and it's not just because of COVID; Boomtown is becoming unbearable to experience in person. Their new staff is less than professional and have zero hospitality training - they can pretty much clear plates and cups. Any behavior that isn't sitting quietly with a beer is seen as suspicious, and they really want to know "what you're doing" when you're walking around admiring all the cool murals and games. They definitely don't know much about the community whom they serve and treat most of their Mexican clients WAY less respectfully than their other clients (especially when in Dodger gear - they're always asking why you're up walking around or asking what you're doing or if you're "ok"; it's as if they're afraid).
The last time I visited, one staff member, who looked to be 16 at most, started physical altercations with some guests over taking pictures near the patio television (which happened to be blocking one of their famous murals). This escalated quickly once the staff member began the interaction by cursing at the customer. The patio was so packed full of people at the time, we could barely squeeze past one another, and were all caught up in this ill- handled blow out; so much so that at some point, another staff member got involved unnecessarily and shoved me into another crowd of people, spilling beer all over me, just so he could get into the customer's face to challenge them to a fight - WHILE THAT STAFF MEMBER WAS STILL WORKING!!
This place has so much potential and it looks really pretty, but looks can be deceiving- they've REALLY lost their purpose as well as control of...
ย ย ย Read moreGot to experience my 1st taste of racially profiled. Iโm taking waiting for my girlfriend to come out of the restrooms. I see a nice single speed bike. Walk around a few gentlemen and look around the bike. The next thing I hear is โ hey, did u loose something โ. Taken of guard I said whatโ, I hear yea your looking around, what are u looking at?โ, At this point I thinking of this is the owner of the bicycle. I couldnโt help to explain my self โ Iโm looking at the bike, what do you mean am I okay and what am I looking forโ. The gentleman proceeded to explain he was the owner/ manager of the place. I asked โ what do you mean what I am doing and am I okayโ, โIโm waiting for my girl, sheโs using the restroomโ. At this point I felt like owner/manager questioned me as if I was wanting to steal or had committed a crime. I assume he got the same vibe and offer to buy me a drink. This was after i asked for his name and surely he knew it was offended by his questioning. I had literally two beer at this place. I suppose if I was white wearing a polo and some banana republic short along with some loafers. The white manager would have felt more at home and not wonder what a Mexican man was looking at bicycle. Well boomtown I make 70k a year and I own a 500 single speed. Thank you for making me feel like a criminal. I guess unless ur Asian or white, boomtown is not for you. I mean unless your trying to make the manager/owner scared please avoid this place. Those Mexicans I tell you alway...

This rustic earthy gym of brews, pints, bar games, bumping music, outdoor as well as indoor seating, and entertainment in the form of several flat screens is one you must partake in.
They have very good street parking throughout the area with limited restrictions after peak hours and on weekends.
BB offers an impressive selection of Belgian-style ales, IPAs, Lagers, and seasonals. The Baby Coke Back Gose (juicy sour), Siriously Black (dark ale), and Part-Time Lover (red lager) being some of my top picks. Though between me and a band of ragtag friends we pretty much tried it all.
They offer flights of four or twelve and have great deals on glasses and/or cans via Taproom central. You are able to order via mobile app or at the counter. Boomtown often partners with various food trucks and vendors throughout the week including lots of plant-based friendly eateries and hosts a vegan-friendly event or two weekly.
Definitely an all-inclusive all-inviting atmosphere with quality service. To the "beertender" in baby blue. I salute you!
Come for the beer, take in the rustic decor, plant life indoors, throw some darts, play some arcade games and lush...
