This place definitely has potential. The atmosphere is really cool and they do have a pretty good menu for bar food. My husband and I unfortunately had a terrible experience and will definitely not be back. To start off the night I wanted to sample some beers. I am a little picky and the menu was not very descriptive. The waitress said that we had a limit of three tastings and seemed really annoyed that I wanted to taste anything at all. I did not like any of my three tastes and felt pressured to make a choice so I just picked something. It tasted like a mix of maple syrup and nyquil. I took one sip and could not even force myself to drink anymore just because I chose it and I felt bad. Even my husband who is the least picky person on the planet gaged when he took a sip. It sat there completely full on the table the entire night and the waitress sat at the host booth on her phone and only came back to wordlessly drop off our food. We finally had a chance to bring up the issue when she dropped off the bill and all she said was "Oh. Sorry." and did not offer to exchange it or take it off the bill. To top it off the pretzel was burned and nobody ever asked us if everything was all right. If she had been attentive to our needs and fixed the situation, not only would my husband and I have likely had 4 beers between us, but it also would have redeemed our night and this establishment. We rarely complain when we go out to eat, both of us having worked many years in food service, but I was not only given food and drinks that were not worth the money I work hard to earn, but I was also treated like an afterthought and made to feel bad about myself for being upset with the situation in the first place. What was supposed to be a fun night out left me feeling uncomfortable and angry. At least the...
Read moreWent on a Thursday evening around 7:30 to meet friends for dinner and drinks (this location had a Cali Health grade of B). The place was only about half full, but understaffed. There was no table service, and one bartender responsible for taking all the drink and food orders and then one runner to bring the food out, so there's was a line of over ten people waiting to order food. Once we ordered, the food came out after a reasonable amount of time. The food was okay, but a little over priced for the products they serve. Chicken sandwich was deli slices, not a chicken breast or cuts of chicken, with a side of potato chips and a pickle. No fries. The Burbank location, which also has table service, has a deeper menu. Also, a friend made the mistake of leaving his tab open after he ordered food/beer and so he had to wait in line again just to close out - the runner isn't able to drop checks. Can't recommend and would rate 2.5 stars if that were an option. Wow! A passive aggressive response from the owner! Definitely never going back. I apologize that I didn't pick up the slimy menu on the bar to try to read the Ralph's ingredients in each menu item in the dim light. I'm also sorry you have to work at your own business (that has a B health and safety grade) and that you think a half-full bar/restaurant is "crazy busy." BTW - I tipped $10 on a ~$20 tab. Put it towards another bartender...
Read moreThis place definitely has a lot of potential to be a staple here in NoHo! There’s tons of seating and games to play. As far as food there’s a few appetizers and then a variety of sandwiches to choose from. The beer selection is broad however they don’t offer any in-house brews; so it’s not technically a brewery, it’s more of a restaurant that offers craft beers from other breweries. My wife and I got the hummus and toasted pita chips to start off. The hummus was great but the pita chips were tough and chewy. The sandwiches were awesome and I loved that they came with kettle chips (or a salad if you’d like). One thing I found odd was the wooden plates and bowls for all the food. Having worked around food, I know that can often be a cross contamination issue with the wood being porous and absorbing oils and juices from different foods; basically you can’t 100% clean wooden bowls and plates. One thing I do love is the location. There are tons of complexes within walking distance, which is key for the business to survive in this area. All in all, I think they have a good foundation but could always improve and adapt to the customer base’s liking. I look forward to going back in a couple months and seeing how they have adjusted after being open...
