Was super excited to try out a barcade in LA, the prices were around what you would expect— 14 for a single, 18 for a double. The bartender seemed less than enthused to be there, but made our drinks well regardless. I tried the Pink Lightning and that was good. Next we tried the Koolaid Man and that was the most standard bar drink you could expect. Nothing special or noteworthy about it, but perhaps not worth the price point. But who comes to a barcade for great drinks? The retro games available were great. They had Initial D!! I was super excited by their selection. Most games were operational and all around we had a stellar time. I do wish the bartender had a bit more optimism, but being as though you can’t program people I’m just glad they made our drinks well. A worthwhile visit all around. :)

This place is the best! It’s a perfect weekend spot, especially if you get there early in the evening before it gets crowded. The games and the drinks are all great, but Tanner at the bar is the real reason we keep coming back! He always has the best movie and TV recommendations and we love catching up with him from week to week. He’s always such a blast to talk to. He has such a fun energy and something about the way he makes our drinks is just more delicious than anyone (including myself at home) can make them. I don’t understand it, but I’m not complaining. I’m just going to keep coming back to Tanner! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

From my standpoint, the best arcade in LA. Nice reason: They hosted a wedding reception for me recently! Event planning and staff were incredibly supportive and attentive to details. We got to play some nice wedding themed visuals on the screens and allow everyone for a nice afternoon of play and drinks (with catering delivering to us). Aside our special event, they have a nice selection of games, a very relaxing atmosphere, nice drinks, and special events like karaoke! If you're at all a nostalgic arcade goer or into gaming in some capacity, it is a must visit.

Let me start off by saying I do not post negative reviews of businesses because I understand how hard it is to run one, but I am extremely disappointed with Player One Arcade Bar and how they handled the verbal harassment that occurred toward myself and another female friend of mine who both attended the bar last Friday. They did not back us up and they did everything they could to silence us. This harassment was from an employee they hired for the night - the cosplaying guy who dresses up like the Mandolorian and skates around LA.

A group of us were there to have a good time and casually play games and chat. None of us were drunk or belligerent, causing a scene, whatever all the normal reasons are for kicking people out of bars, we we were doing none of them. Then, literally out of nowhere, cosplaying Mandolorian starts verbally attacking my female friend, and then starts verbally attacking me. It was like witnessing a person with major anger management issues projecting onto us. My friend was honestly scared for her safety and was brought to tears by this guy screaming in her face. It was super upsetting.

When I held my ground, he stormed away (likely to speak with the management). We moved to another side of the bar away from him and continued to try to have a good time regardless of the harassment. Then next thing we know, our large party of 8 was all being escorted out of the bar and told we were banned for the night. The owner Chris insisted it was for our (mine and my female friend's) safety.

All of us were extremely confused, but we went elsewhere for the night. I returned the next day to speak with the owners to better understand what had happened - because I have never in my life been kicked out of a bar, no less BANNED, for doing nothing other than being harassed by THEIR EMPLOYEE, and then ejected for "my safety". Chris stated that another reason for the ban was that we had insulted or instigated the Mando cosplayer, none of which is even remotely true. We barely even acknowledged him, and the bar security tapes prove that.

Owner Chris Brooks explained that regardless of who was to blame, he foresaw a fight breaking out, and that he had to diffuse the situation. Fine. He said he also banned Mando cosplayer from working there. Great. But then when I asked if we were banned just for the night or forever Chris stated that it was forever and the decision was not his, but the other co-owner's Annique's, that we had to take it up with her.

She has been refusing to talk to us.

You would think that as a woman, Annique Arredondo would at least be sympathetic enough toward the two women in her establishment who got harassed by a man she hired. Instead, she silenced us, and refuses to speak to anyone who was there that night to get the true accounts of what happened and not just blindly side with her employee.

I am really disappointed and hurt by this decision, as Player One has been a bar I've frequented, never had a previous issue there, and always encouraged others to be a patron there as well.

Obviously I will never return to this establishment and I will actively tell my friends, coworkers, and anyone else who will listen not to spend money here...FOR THEIR SAFETY. Not only did they create an unsafe environment by hiring this aggressive Mando cosplayer in the first place, they continue to try to cover up their mistake by dismissing the women affected by his harassment. Their behavior condones bullying and silencing victims while avoiding accountability. They clearly have no respect for their patrons.

By the way, Mando cosplayer was also yelling at us without wearing his helmet. This is...

Player One in Valley Village: The Ultimate Arcade Hangout for Young Adults

Player One is hands-down the perfect spot in Valley Village for anyone looking to dive into nostalgia, challenge friends, or enjoy a laid-back date night with a unique twist. This arcade bar perfectly balances the electrifying thrill of competitive gaming with a welcoming atmosphere, making it a must-visit for young adults who love good vibes and a bit of retro flair.

Best Arcade Games Around Step into Player One, and you’ll be met with a top-tier selection of arcade classics that are perfect for tournaments or just chilling with friends. For those who love the fast-paced action, Time Crisis, House of the Dead, and Area 51 will definitely get your adrenaline pumping. If you’re more into classic fighting games, you can't miss their Street Fighter and Tekken setups, which are always a hit. And for a bit of fun with a nostalgic twist, The Simpsons Arcade game is a favorite. These games are a perfect blend for both serious gamers and casual players alike!

Drinks That Hit the Spot Though they don’t serve food, Player One offers a great drink menu with some of the tastiest concoctions around. The Kirby is a top recommendation — a delicious drink that’s as vibrant as the game itself. Plus, the relaxed policy of allowing outside food means you can easily bring or order your favorite snacks to the bar (just leave the outside alcohol at home). It’s the perfect excuse to grab some local eats and settle in for a night of gaming.

Welcoming Vibe for Everyone What truly sets Player One apart is its vibe. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the bartender is always ready to whip up something tasty while chatting about games. Even the security has a chill demeanor, creating a space that feels safe and fun. Whether you're there for a tournament or a cute date night, you’ll find yourself feeling right at home amidst the neon lights and the buzzing sounds of the arcade.

Player One is a Valley Village gem where you can unwind, show off your gaming skills, and enjoy a great time with friends. Whether you're a seasoned arcade pro or just in it for some fun, this spot has something for everyone. Highly recommend giving it a visit — you won't be...

This place is so so good... I went for the very first time last weekend and i was so impressed. My friends and I initially stopped in just to check it out and we ended up staying all night... They have every arcade game you could possibly want, drinks galore (vodka Red Bull being my personal fave), and and INCREDIBLY friendly staff.... This place gets so many things right but what where it really exceeds is its customer service, atmosphere, and energy. The bartends, owners, and even security team are so nice while they worked tirelessly for a completely packed house. I know if my business was that popular I would have a panic attack from just how many people were wanting more drinks. They even had a DJ that one was very handsome and two played remixes of classic video game music that really just brought the whole place to life. I can absolutely guarantee that I will be here week after week. I'm so thrilled I can enter this new post-covid era with a new...
