Im going to give this place 2 stars because the day before yesterday I thought this place was excellent. The day before Yesterday I ordered the Urban Frenchie which is essentially a cheeseburger and fries in a burrito form. It was absolutely DELICIOUS yesterday. I explicitly told the gentleman that I could NOT eat tomatoes. And he made extra sure that there were no tomatoes in the burrito. I admired his thorough work and careful work. I was sure I was going to have a new favorite lunch spot. TODAY, was not good. Today I went it at 1:45PM ordered the same thing. The Urban Frenchie. Asked them once again for no tomatoes. He wrote it down on the point of sale that there were supposed to be no tomatoes. I sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. This place only had 3 tables occupied so they were not busy by any stretch of the word. I didnt leave the restaurant with my to-go order until about 2:25PM which means that it took them almost a half hour to make my burrito. It was really good the last time so I figured that i'd just live with how long it took and enjoy it when I got home. I took my first bite. I got a mouthful of tomato. HUGE slices of tomato that before I left the restaurant, I asked " No tomato?" to make sure that it was correct. " No tomato!" he said as he handed me the bag. Tomatoes are not threateningly dangerous to me if I eat them. They are just extremely hard on my stomach. I couldn't eat this burrito I paid 12 dollars for because by the time I took my first bite, I was already 20-30 minutes past having ordered it and several miles away. Not that 12 bucks is ton of money for food. It still is quite irritating that I can't eat what it paid for though. If you ARE allergic to a certain food item, I wouldn't trust these people to exclude an item on the first request. You need to make damn sure that you tell them twice/three times. And there was no excuse for taking 30 minutes to fry up some ground beef and put it in a tortilla. Not even an acknowledgement or anything. I don't usually down-vote restaurants like this. But this was absolutely ridiculous. I will absolutely not be...

First of all let me tell you the philgogi cheesesteak is no longer on the menu which was why I went there in the first place. I settled for their house burger meal which turned out to be @18.00 in total with a Snapple instead of a coke. Kid didn’t tell me it was an upgrade when he range me up.

Next the acoustics are horrible I found this as a group of disgruntled women were bing belligerent about a bad day at work directly next to a Islamic family of 5. I put my headphones on and tried to ignore them.

Someone bravely shushed the girl who of course started yelling at him. I chimed in with I was trying to ignore you and it’s quite rude to use that language in front of children. The restaurant went quit for a moment and they went right back to it.

When their food came I had hoped they would finally stop shrieking much to my avail they did not. I might have said this out loud. At which point I said fine if they won’t ask you to be quite I will leave.

No one working there had the balls to ask them to be courteous of other patrons it was a full house. I had carefully selected this place on yelp and was looking forward to enjoying a delicious hamburger.

Now I’m riding home on my bike with a bag of food in my hand of course by the time I get home the food is cold the bun is soggy and the fries well you can’t reheat fries can you now.

Bottom line have some common courtesy people and stand up for your rights this was a waste of 18 dollars for me.

If the manager would have offered me a discount I would probably return but alas the 16 year old kid behind the counter had no idea how to handle the situation. I’m sure the mood was a little off after the altercation and as a result some may choose to never return that...

UPDATE: Doordash reached out to the restaurant to initiate a refund request and said I would hear from the restaurant within 2 days. A week later, still no contact. No guarantee you'll get your food and no guarantee you'll be reimbursed if it doesn't arrive.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The food was pretty good. Fries were excellent and the burger was above average (except for the overly wilted lettuce I had to remove).

The real frustration was in the delivery experience. I ordered directly from their website and my order arrived missing an item. I called Urban Skillet, and after informing them, they told me they'd call me back. They called me back 5 minutes later to say that the issue was with their Doordash courier and that I'd have to call Doordash to get a resolution.

After being transferred to two different Doordash representatives, was told that Urban Skillet would have to process the refund since they collected my payment. Doordash tried to call Urban Skillet to get an answer, but they didn't answer. So they sent a refund request and we'll see if I get a refund.

I went through Urban Skillet's website to avoid fees and help them out, but at the end of the day, it became a big headache for me just to get $7 refunded. Felt like everyone just kept passing the buck and I was the one left stuck on calls. Instead of eating dinner, I spent over an hour trying to get this sorted out and still might not get a resolution. Super bummed that Urban Skillet doesn't stand by the delivery services integrated into their website. I hate that ordering from third party services takes a huge chunk from restaurant revenues, but at least it ensures an adequate customer service when...

I decided to try Urban Skillet out with the intention of trying out some awesome halal Korean-fusion burgers, ribs, and wings. However I soon found out that the restaurant has changed up a bit. Same name but instead of focusing on an array of Korean food, all their focus is on amazing gourmet burgers that are very fairly priced. If you have any doubt that it’s halal—all that doubt is taken away and you’ll be reassured time and time again that everything here is 100% zabihah halal starting from the little chalkboard on the sidewalk to the halal sign next to the door to where you order food and even the kind and humble staff assures you of the restaurant’s very halal presence. My dad and I tried the Original and the Southern BBQ burgers. Both were a bit too big for the both of us but really delicious. You can taste the freshness and it’s meat-to-fat ratio is on point. They pack a lot of beef into the patties unlike other halal burger places I’ve had. After asking for a cup for water, I noticed one of the staff members come back a few minutes later with cups he must have bought next door just so they could best serve us. The decor and dining area is well-kept as well. The only thing I could complain about is that the restroom could be a little cleaner. All-in-all I wish you guys the best! Keep it up :) and I can’t wait to come back for more.

Excellent food! I will definitely be coming back. Juicy flavorful burger. And really tasty sloppy fries. I had the "Southern BBQ Burger" and "Skillet Fries." Really amazing quality and intense deliciousness for both items. The burger had arugula in it which was very different for me, but it worked well with the blend of spices in the meat. The other ingredients: beef bacon, swiss cheese, onion ring and BBQ sauce lassoed a seemingly untamable southwestern beast. Then the fries; pretty much "Animal Fries" from In-N-Out, BUT done even better, if you can believe it. I've been a lover of "Animal Fries" for years, but Urban Skillet's version has more of everything. More cheese, more sauce, more caramelized grilled onions and crispier fries. I don't often like to pay more for food, but in this case it's absolutely worth it. I had to Google it, so here it is: Halal food is that which adheres to Islamic law, as defined in the Koran. The Islamic form of slaughtering animals or poultry, dhabiha, involves killing through a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe. Animals must be alive and healthy at the time of slaughter and all blood is drained from the carcass. Didn't know it at the time, but maybe this is why the meat was so good!?

Unexpectedly amazing. We were at our last night in LA and was looking for a halal place to get our last dinner at. I found this place through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. The asthetic of the place was nice. Clean and modern looking. The staff was very friendly and respectful. One woman needed to pray and they paused the music for her and even told her which direction she needed to pray and offered her a prayer mat. They also forgot a side of fries and when I asked about it they made the fries fresh and walked the food over to our table directly. But for the main reason for the 5 stars, the food. Oh, how excellent the food was. The burgers were cooked just right, and pieced together beautifully; the sides were fried correctly and had a nice flavor to them; and the milkshake was blended together very nicely. There were a lot of variety in the types of Burgers and we ordered 3 different types, all of them with their own unique flavors that rival top Burger joints. But the best part of all was that the food's 100% halal which was great for the whole family. 10/10 if I'm ever in LA again, I'm definitely coming back here.
