I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Bru Coffeebar on our interview date.
Ah Los Feliz, ever-growing in popularity for longtime Angelinos and newcomers alike. With that ever-growing popularity comes a peaked interest in cafes and coffeeshops, in which Bru Coffeebar flourishes in its prime location on the hustlin’, bustlin’ Franklin Avenue. But don’t let its dainty exterior fool you , because once you step inside you will be amazed with the amount of space that is being housed. A clean, open floorplan gives patrons the opportunity to find their preferred spot for uninterrupted intimate conversations, work sessions, or simply some much needed ‘you’ time with a delicious cup of caffeine and a scrumptious snack. If you’re looking for a little more privacy, head up the stairs to their loft area for more seating and a better way to enjoy the ear pleasing light jazz or soothing indie music playing throughout the shop. Or if you’re looking to people watch with your favorite pooch, claim your spot at one of their few outdoor tables to witness the buzz of the growing Los Feliz pocket in real time.
Bru Coffeebar’s ordering bar matches perfectly with its modern interior with an organized display to help visitors decide on their choice of beverage and pastry combination. Not only do you have your choice of your favorite espresso drinks, but you’ll also be able to pick from a fun mix of specialty and seasonal drinks, which includes a refreshing sparkler made with tea or fresh juice and sparkling water. And if you thought choosing something to drink was hard, wait until you get a look at the delicious (and huge!) baked goods that they have to offer. I myself was intrigued by the sparkler drink so I went with the Jasmine Rose Sparkler to go along with my heavenly guava cream cheese croissant. I was definitely a happy girl, so thank you Bru Coffeebar for the...
Read moreWas a regular client since the beginning of pandemic until absolutely terrible and unprofessional customer service that me and my husband received from barista named Kern/Kerl, I’m not sure if he gave his real name. He worked on November 8th. After tasting our coffee, both of us agreed that it was very bitter, just tasted like burnt coffee and not creamy for this type of drinks. We both are from Europe and know how good coffee should taste like. So we politely asked if something can be done, meaning that coffee can be redone or just some extra milk would be added. Reply was just - NO, nothing can be done, you can add some sugar. Which absolutely took us by surprise, we didn’t even knew what to answer… after standing there and already asking to at least add a little bit of milk, because we didn’t want sugar in our drinks, we received yet another very annoyed no, and after 5 minutes he finally added some milk🤦🏼♀️ Would definitely go to Blue bottle around the corner next time, for better coffee and for sure better and more professional...
Read moreThis place is great, but I have one major complaint. I met here for a job interview with a very important executive. Upon leaving what I can only assume was an excellent interview, I attempted to exit through the front door. I pulled, and the door wouldn't open. The man interviewing me noticed and said, "Looks like you push!" I tried to explain to him that I knew for certain that the door opened both ways (push and pull). I proceeded to pull the door, and unfortunately whoever designed it put a door jamb and hinges in the way, which made it EXCEPTIONALLY difficult to open by pulling. Nevertheless, I was able to open the door by pulling, albeit with some damage to the faulty doorframe. This issue should probably be addressed, as I have not heard back about the position I interviewed for, and I fear that the malfunctioning door may be to blame for my...
