Seating: We got there around 2pm and they close at 3pm and they were extremely busy. We were a party of 4. Outside and inside were full. Despite that, we were still seated around 30 minutes. This surprised me due to how busy they were.
Customer Service: They had plenty of servers and they all helped all tables. Refills and or if you needed anything was no issue.
Food Wait: Please note the wait was long. Although I do have a saying I've learned when it comes to good food " Good food takes time." Not sure if its like that all the time. We waited about 45 minutes after we ordered our food to receive our first plate. The plates did come at separate times. Or it may take a long time due to their large selection of the food menu.
Coffee: Soda is soda, juice is juice (unless freshly squeezed), and bottled drinks are bottled drinks. I added the coffee for "real" coffee drinkers. Their brewed coffee is better than most places. However, they ran out of there brewed coffee and brought my wife a refill from the French Press due to they were closed and they didn't want to brew a new pot of coffee. The coffee was exceptionally smooth and brewed correctly. No bitter taste. Please note we drink our coffee straight no sugar or creamers added.
Food: We ordered 5 things. Chicken Curry with Lava Omelet, Beef Panang Curry with Lava Omelet, Mac and Cheese with a side of fries, Green Tea Taramasu Pancakes, and shrimp fried rice.
Chicken Curry with Lava Omelet: Curry: had great flavor. However, it was a little watery. But the bold flavor compensated for that. It had the right spices. FYI: There was a slight sweetness to it. Chicken: Was tender and not dry. Wasn't all chicken breast. It was a mix of cuts Egg: Was cooked right. When cut open it did flow like "lava." Rice: Well cooked not to mushy or undercooked. Over all: Flavor was on point and all worked together to create an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Wouldn't say it exploded the "Umami" but it was very good.
Panang Beef Curry with Lava Omelet: Beef: seemed to be Flank Steak. Very juicy and not over cooked. Cury: was very flavorful. This was a thicker curry sauce. More what I am used too in a curry. It was very sweet. If you're into sweet food this would be great for you. Rice: was same consistency as the chicken curry. Egg: was the same consistency of the chicken curry. Overall: For a curry based dish I would say it was better than the chicken curry overall (if your into sweet food). Please note both had great flavor and worth trying. Green Tea Taramasu Pancakes: Fluffy and very flavourful. Sauce was on point. Sorry no picture as the kids started to devour them once they arrived. Shrimp Fried Rice: Please note my son ordered it and he asked for no veggies. Even then the rice was really delicious! Rice was very flavourful and not mushy. I would say the shrimp seemed like an afterthought. They just put them on top. On the plus side they were jumpo shrimp. I think the shrimp should have been sauted or cooked with the rice to add flavor to them. Although it had no veggies it was still flavourful. I would highly recommend it.
Mac and Cheese: I was a littles disappointed. I thought becuase of the calaber of the rest of the food that the Mac and Cheese would be a gourmet Mac and Cheese. seemed like it was a "box" Mac and Cheese. No flavor. But it's Mac and Cheese, what do you expect I guess.
Fries: They were cooked good. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. They did lack salt. Almost like they forgot to add salt.
Overall: I highly recommend this restaurant and would most definitely come back. Please note I Iive...
Read moreI brought my kids early for breakfast, the place was mostly empty. They told me 40 minutes for my tiramisu soufflé cup. Not a problem. After waiting 45 minutes a different waitress asked if everything was ok, I said I was waiting for my food. She goes to check on my order and comes back with a slip showing what time the waitress put the order in, she then proceeds to try to argue with me about the amount of time I was waiting. I’m not sure why as I didn’t say anything that would have even warranted her to even bringing the slip out. She asked if everything was ok, all I said was that I was waiting for my food. Not a big deal. I get it takes a while to prepare and was expecting to wait anyhow. I get my order after waiting over 50 minutes, still not a big deal. I take a bite and realize there aren’t any chocolate chips, I scan the menu to make sure I wasn’t wrong and that the chocolate chips were supposed to be on the tiramisu soufflé. They definitely were. I moved the cream and topping to see if it was underneath but as you can see in the picture there is only one singular chocolate chip. It’s slightly frustrating waiting and having an issue with my order but it’s chocolate chips, an easy fix. I get the waitress and show her that there aren’t any chocolate chips, or even a sign of melted chocolate chips under the cream. She tells me they must have melted, I again show her that there isn’t any sign of melted chocolate in the white sauce or cream. She gets a cup of chocolate chips for me and I pour them over top. Easy fix. I didn’t even get to take a bite before the waitress comes back to tell me I was wrong about there not being any chocolate chips and that the cook said they must have melted. At this point I’m ready to cry because it’s literally chocolate chips guys, I waited nearly an hour for my food, I’m hungry but now I’ve had 3 instances where the waitstaff is trying to argue with me. I hate confrontation, I dislike arguing, and I especially could care less if the cook forgot my chocolate chips but the fact that these women chose to argue with me and make me feel so uncomfortable and anxious, I was in tears, and I just left without eating my breakfast instead of crying t my table from the way these ladies were treating me over chocolate chips. I don’t understand why the staff would choose to argue and gaslight me instead of saying “let me get you the chocolate chips” and move on with their day and let me eat in peace. I worked in the restaurant industry for over a decade I understand things happen but I’ve never had so many people try to instigate an argument or try to emotionally abuse me via gaslighting in my life. It’s freaking...
Read moreI love this place. I bring my friends and my family here. Truthfully this place is a gem of an establishment and choose very attentive and kind servers that always makes this place exciting to visit again. Recently I had an issue with a server Devonese a lady with a blue bonnet that works in bringing the food. Not the first time I have seen her or her serving me but the first time I’ve received awful customer service from her. My primary server was Bibi who was so friendly inviting and patient to my family who are predominantly Spanish speaking . When receiving the food we simply asked for salsa to eat with the eggs and she overwhelming and defensively was like “there is so much food coming I only have two hands” and more words under her breath. I wasn’t being demanding or upset I was just asking to remind her in case she might have forgot ( since egg came with no salsa on the side) I work in a similar service industry so I was really careful with my approach and I was baffled by her response. And I said thank you I wasn’t onto you or anything I’m just asking. Then when we are served the rest of our food my dad asked for his toast that he ordered with our server. Like “hi I order a side of toast with my meal?” And she said “sir that extra it doesn’t come with your meal it’s going to be extra” and my dad is like okay but I already ordered it ? (Mind you he already received his meal) And he has a thick Hispanic accent and she was like” I don’t know why you are talking to me like this! ” and stormed off, embarrassing my father and our family with other families staring at us. My dad was so confused after that interaction like “did I say something wrong ?” It is really sad because we were not being the least bit demanding and I hear her behind me asking other customers “is there anything else I can do” before leaving other customers while she was trying to storm off from my family after delivering each item without the same courtesy. I’ve been served by her previous and never received this treatment from her either. I hope it gets addressed because this is my favorite place where I make the best brunch memories with some of the best brunch plates and never left this place with a sour taste in my mouth and lessened appetite. People who come here to have a great time should not receive the same treatment for simply asking a question. Bibi our predominant server was a gem very friendly and appreciated her suggestions and service. I communicated my concern with her and she was very...
