The food was decent. It wasn't as good as I remembered it being, maybe the quality went down a bit. On the other hand the hello fish specials were FANTASTIC. It included salmon belly, Toro, carpaccio, sweet shrimp, oysters, mussels and much more. These special items come in "sampler style" and are limit one per person. The other rolls, and things on the menu were average, you can get a half or a full roll which is a nice option. The rainbow roll tasted like grocery store sushi. The rice was thick and kind of clumpy like that. Drinks are EXPENSIVE you can order a small 12 oz bottle of Sapporo for $8????? It's not even tap, and I can get a 24 oz can of that from the store for $3?
The service was speedy. Almost a little too speedy sometimes. I barely opened my menu and the server was there to take my order I felt a little pressured, but the server was friendly and recommended a lot of items. I want to stress this though, I mentioned that I was allergic to sesame seeds and was twice given a roll that had sesame on top, and was very suspicious of the carpaccio having a sesame paste. BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS when you're ordering, they will not remember your allergies and if you are not careful you could leave with a visit to the hospital.
The ambiance is lovely. Low light vibes create a cozy atmosphere, and K-pop videos playing on YouTube is fun.
Overall $50 per person for AYCE was not terrible, but there are many other places that I would suggest for better quality. With drinks and everything my partner and I ended up spending about $160 not...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this restaurant twice in three days on our honeymoon in LA. The first time we came here the service was amazing and fast. The food was creative and delicious! It was unlike any other sushi restaurant that I had been too. The way the chefs presented the food was what made this place fun! We enjoyed everything we tried. The lights and music made it a fun atmosphere. Our first visit was great, wish I could say the same for the second visit. We arrived and there was maybe 4 other tables of two people each table. We were seated quickly which was nice but it took the waiter about 40 minutes to come over and take our first order. The waiters would clean tables or just stand there doing nothing while we sat waiting to be served. I noticed they were the same for the other tables. Things started to get better once im assuming it was a manager walked in and everyone started to serve tables quicker. Maybe they were just having an off day on our second visit. The first time we came here the waiter was on top of everything always asking us what we wanted next before our current plates were even empty. It was great! I'm still giving them 5 stars because our first visit was so enjoyable and I know they are capable of doing an...
Read more😅 2 stars because the waitress who picked up when I called about the wait time was sweet but she also didn't know what unagi and it's on the menu lmao (it's eel)...and nobody really consistently was paying attention to my table despite the place being nearly empty.
Really hard to justify. I know inflation is real but the last time I did AYCE I think I paid $35 in LA in 2020 and this was $50.
Sushi was cut between weirdly and poorly and was prepped either way too far in advance or the fish was simply too old. Flavor and texture are probably fine if you don't eat nice food very often.
Baked rolls were barely warm. So much cream cheese it lost all heat. Lobster salad on the lobster roll was flavorless.
The "rolls" section is just rice. I get that they're trying to min/max a bit here because they're an AYCE location but wow it was like there was nothing in the roll. 😅
Sashimi is not on the AYCE menu despite the menu saying "everything except for the drinks and desserts".
Staff also seemed to just not know where the items were in their own point of sale system and also delivered the wrong food a couple times.
Absolutely not going back but I hope the waitress has...
