As an Aussie we hear about In-N-Out Burger through tv shows, pop culture and just general ‘will In-N-Out come to Australia’ articles (it never has besides a pop-up in Brisbane…) so obviously when I was in the home state for the burger joint it would have been remiss of me not to try it.

Given this is my first fast food review it obviously did something that differentiated itself from maccas or other fast food.

I really enjoyed the entire experience, from the amazing service, to the amazing food it was not like fast food I previously knew!

I know In-N-Out prides itself with great service and this was evident, they were so nice and wanting to help out the uniforms were also fantastic, crisp, themed and uniform (ironic I know)

The food was great, the chips were delicious could have kept eating them! As I am not a local I didn’t know that there was a secret menu of sorts and that animal fries was on said menu until I saw someone picking theirs up! I went back to change my order and asked for ‘loaded fries’ which simply was not the key word but then recalled from some 2014 BuzzFeed quiz that determined which kardashian I was based on my fast food choices lol so aptly asked for animal fries which are a must to order.

The burger was the best burger I have had outside of those over priced ‘artisan’ burgers (probably beats a lot of those too)

The food didn’t leave me feeling all oily and gross like a maccas order after a night out. Wish that we had In-N-Out in Melbourne it would go off, but also semi glad it’s not as it would become my regular which my heart probably wouldn’t love so bitter sweet.

All jokes aside a must try, not gimmicky food joint that you will want to come back to and yes we need a permanent store...

I am writing to formally report an upsetting and discriminatory experience I had at your establishment on July 22, 2025, at approximately 1:30 PM while picking up a takeout order.

I had placed an order and was waiting patiently for my number to be called. I observed that the employee handing out food did not ask the customer in front of me for a receipt; instead, he handed over their order after simply asking for a number. However, when I stepped up and stated that my order was ready, the employee snatched the food out of my hands and abruptly demanded to see my receipt. His tone and behavior were unnecessarily aggressive and made me feel disrespected and singled out.

I was deeply offended and upset by how I was treated. In frustration, I dropped my cap on the floor and walked out of the store. What happened next was even more disturbing: the same employee followed me outside to my car, took a photo of my license plate, and told me not to come back to the store. I began recording at that point for my safety and to document the incident.

I believe this treatment was unjustified, discriminatory, and rooted in racial bias, especially considering the difference in how other customers were treated in comparison to me. No customer should ever be made to feel targeted, humiliated, or unsafe, particularly in a public setting like this.

I am requesting that this matter be taken seriously and investigated appropriately. At minimum, I would appreciate a formal acknowledgment of my complaint and information about how the business plans to address this issue to ensure it does not happen again to me or...
