This is a little secret gym in my neighborhood. The food is delicious. The people are nice. The price is aren't bad. Sorry. No photos but please support this neighborhood gym especially if they have the skinny noodles. This is an added post to this j&j wok. They're very nice people. The food is delicious. This is the only place where you can get two kinds of noodles but they're very consistent on their food. Times are hard. Prices are a little high but they haven't raised them that crazy. Please visit j&j wok. Be patient when there's the line. Thank you. I've added photos

It's always nice when mom-and-pop businesses, especially restaurants do well against corporate rivals. Many small Chinese restaurants have succeeded by following the trailblazer (i.e. Panda Express) and offering similar fare (e.g. Orange Chicken). JJWok is the exception. This hole-in-the-wall grew it's base of loyal patrons from offering a menu full of excellent dishes, many of them not served at Panda restaurants (try the Jalapeno Chicken).

I've been here multiple times and I've never been disappointed. The portions they give here are MASSIVE, I'm always surprised when my dish is being served. The servers are always kind and welcoming! A handful of tables to sit at, and the location has blinds that prevent the sun from coming in and heating up the place.

I love Mom and Pop shops, this one especially.

The lady that is always out front serving everyone is very nice and greets every person who comes in.

The food may not be AMAZING. But it is exactly what I want from a Chinese American takeaway.

The portion sizes are huge and prices are affordable. And while the prices have obviously increased with time, I would rather still come here and support a great local spot than go to some franchise.

Especially throughout lockdown, I went here more than anywhere else to help where I could.

Her and some of the staff is still masking for health and safety. And so will I whenever I go in out of respect. (I still almost constantly mask anyways, but I'm usually the only other customer in line that is. Whatever. Not important...

I lived in the area for 12 years J&J wok was the quick Chinese food spot in the area. $7 gave you fried rice chow mein and two sides. On days the owner is there the food is amazing as it was the first day.

On days he is not, raw chicken in the BBQ chicken/teriyaki chicken, raw beef in the beef and broccoli, tough beef in the beef and broccoli, uncleaned broccoli, tough pork in the sweet and sour pork with a raw pork taste to it. Soggy orange chicken, burned sauce on the orange chicken, undercooked chicken wings on the salt and pepper wings. Straw on the camels back was this super long hair in either the fried rice or the Cho mein.

2 stars because the food is amazing when the...

The food is your ordinary style Chinese take out that is filled generously and has the typical taste that most mom and pop shops have. Reasons I took out the two stars:

B Rating from Health Department is an automatic star removal for me. Not sure what's going on in the kitchen for that to happen.

Another star was removed because all the "Sriracha" bottles were filled with some other type of hot sauce that was very watered down and tasted different from Sriracha. Please don't lie to your customers for something that simple. I'd rather know I'm put some other type of hot sauce than be deceived into thinking its Sriracha when it clearly doesn't...
