Kombu Sushi — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Another disappointing experience- I came here over the summer with my sister and it was pricy for a lunch special, the food was fine, but it took at least 30 minutes on a fairly slow day. Tonight, i went with my friends for a quick dinner before going out. The restaurant was pretty full, we placed our order and noticed that none of the tables there before us were being served anything other than miso soup. We waited about an hour for 2 items, a spicy tuna roll and a poke bowl— a fairly simple order. We saw delivery drivers get their orders and a fairly large catering order go out… they were clearly backed up. We eventually ended up asking for the bill after they clearly had not started our order, after everyone else got their food. I just have to wonder how this restaurant is managed when there are three sushi chefs at the bar. Ultimately it just sucks being treated like this, no body in the restaurant caring, and not even getting compensated for a miso soup. Also have to say this place is not special- decor is fine, but they can’t even be bothered to play any other music than TikTok top 100. I will obviously not be returning and i warn anyone looking for mid priced sushi in the area to stay clear...

This happened last June but I can’t stop thinking about it…. Anyways I had an amazing dinner here with my friends and we stayed super late which they were very gracious about and towards the end I went to the bathroom to wash my hands but while I was washing my hands my most precious beautiful sterling silver ring fell down the drain. I tried to use the incense wooden sticks in the window sill to fish it out and I almost had my perfect ring in my clutches again however it fell even further down the drain at the last moment! My heart sank to the bottom of my soul, and even though they were technically closed at this point and I felt terrible for inconveniencing them so much I had no choice but to alert the staff and get my ring back. They literally took apart the entire sink to find my ring in the drain and gave it back to me within minutes!!! Customer service on 10/10. I could have fainted in that moment I was so grateful… or maybe it was just the sake (jk it was the ring). Ever since this place opened I keep going back. Not because I want to but because I keep thinking that the food and place might get better or that I just might score one day and get what I actually ordered right. I like going when it's busy so I wont deal with feeling uncomfortable already as it is. I took my friends over just to see if it was me being too critical or complicated. My 2 friends and I decided to sit outside in the back patio. Not only did it take almost forever to get my food but I was made to feel like a fat lady by one of the drunken kitchen personnel. He said this to me because I was complaining about how my friends got their food first. 1 hour later I got my food and it still was not the plate I ordered. We did not expect free food just what I ordered. I refused the comped food and payed my bill. I still go here and there because of my limited in what I can eat and this place is local to me.
