So we were in search of some french pastries and found this place in North Hollywood. La Rochelle bakery will not disappoint with variety as there was so much to choose from we made sure to order a few to try.
Firstly, I ordered a Almond Milk caramel latte with extra caramel and it was so creamy and dreamy. I just loved every single sip of my latte. My friend ordered a Chai Latte with full cream milk and was very impressed by the taste.
There was a bit of a wait in line but looking at the pastries we weren't surprised at almost everyone ahead of us was ordering one of the fancy croissants.
Now onto the pastry tasting experience. So firstly, I went with a taste of the classic Almond croissant. It was fluffy and light with just the right amount of toasted almonds on the top and delicious filling in the center. I have tasted better as the almond filling although pleasant didn't taste very almondy. This might sound a bit picky, but I really do eat a lot of Almond croissants so I know what the center should taste like.
Next, onto the Chocolate Croissant, this was my personal favorite as just the right balance of chocolate inside the croissant and it was fluffy and light to eat the pastry parts. I actually dipped it into my latte a few times and it worked beautifully as the chocolate melted a little bit inside and was creamy tasting.
Then, something I'd never seen before was the New York Rolls. The first piece I tried was the matcha flavored that had lots of filling inside. If you're looking for something sweet this one is for you. I had about a quarter of a piece and it was rich.
The next New York Roll I tried was strawberry. I do have a soft spot for anything strawberry so I had to eat a second quarter of it as it was that good. And I don't recommend dipping this style of pastry in a latte as I did it and I won't do it again. Some of the strawberry filling, that was delicious remained in my latte which gave it a funky taste. But do enjoy this pastry if you are a lover of strawberries.
We're going to go back this weekend and grab a selection of other pastries we didn't get to try. Wherever you are in Los Angeles I'd say it's worth the drive over.
The staff were pretty friendly and...
ย ย ย Read moreLa Rochelle Bakery deserves a solid five-star review! Their Ice Tiramisu Latte is an absolute delight, offering a perfect balance of creamy and coffee flavors. I ordered the Amerique sandwich, which lives up to its name with its classic American ingredients, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. Next time, Iโm excited to try the Beni or Salmone, which look equally delicious.
The bakery's cinnamon roll is the best I've ever tasted! Soft, gooey, and with just the right amount of sweetness. The chocolate chip cookie is amazing, managing to be both soft and crispy simultaneously. Their attention to detail in baking truly shines through in these treats. They also offer vegan options like the Cahuenga sandwich, showing their dedication to catering to all dietary preferences.
Customer service is exceptional, the lady at the register and the owner both being incredibly sweet and welcoming. I notice how personal they treat people by learning our names, I love that!
The ambience of La Rochelle Bakery is beautiful, with a charming interior and a quaint backyard patio that's perfect for enjoying a meal. I particularly appreciate the dog-friendly patio, which allows me to bring my pup along. Additionally, the big tables ensure handicap accessibility, making this a truly inclusive and welcoming spot for everyone.
Overall, La Rochelle Bakery is a gem with amazing food, fantastic service, and a lovely atmosphere. Highly...
ย ย ย Read moreAs a TeaPop die hard, I was already planning my protest on La Rochelle's opening day lol. But alas, it definitely is SO NICE to have a local cafe with amazing freshly made in house pastries and sandwiches! I tried their Plain croissant and it actually tastes like a true croissant. I went back later in the day and tried their pain au chocolat, and dangerous....thick chocolate filling... yum. The guy at the counter also said the baguettes are made fresh daily and are also available for purchase! As for drinks, I did try their matcha latte and I'm happy to say they use real matcha powder! (not a mix with added sugar and other rando ingredients) No boba though... and they pre mix it beforehand so the color and taste isn't the best. Plenty of seating inside, although not as much as before. They do have plenty of outlets on the walls which is a plus. They kept the back seating and it's newly decorated! They even have potted Rosemary and it smells so nice. The best part is now I can sit back there and return to listening in on everyone's conversations, zoom meetings, and gossip sessions. Still a mosquito issue in the afternoons which I'm hoping maybe they can do something about that?? (Please) Oh and I was honored to be the first customer to be kicked our during closing. hehe. 10/10 on our new noho cafe and bakery! I'm hoping they'll add some community events the way...
