As a Liberian, I was very excited to try the food from a Liberian restaurant. The staff was welcoming and nice, but the pricing was outrageous. I ordered two platters—cassava with rice and palm butter with fufu—and the total came to $90. I specifically requested no cow's foot and asked for extra meat, such as chicken and beef. However, when our order arrived, it consisted solely of half a cow's foot. There was no meat in the cassava, just that half cow's foot. I was very disappointed.
The palm butter included only one chicken wing and a small piece of fat. While the flavors were good, the price was not worth it at all. For the same amount, I could have gone to the Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed an appetizer, a meal, and dessert. I know there is no real comparison, but quality and quantity mean much more. I still felt that $90 for two platters—with very little to no meat—was excessive. I really wanted to be impressed, but unfortunately, I was not.

Read moreThere’s no place like Liberian Girl Kitchen. The food taste just like back home, rich, comforting, and full of heart. It takes me back to days of eating with my friends after school, sharing food, stories, and laughter under the sun. That feeling of being surrounded by your people lives here.
This is the most authentic Liberian food I’ve had outside of home. There’s no shortcuts, just real flavor and real love in every bite.

Read moreThis was my first time having West African food and now I’m worried that all future experiences won’t hold a candle because this was so, SO delicious!! 🤤 I ordered the Attieke/Acheke and fufu because I had never had it before. The fish was so beautifully cooked with a delicate texture and the cassava side dish had such a wonderful tangy flavor and bouncy texture. But the sauce was the real star. It has so much delectable, spiced savory flavor and a super flavorsome heat. It comes with slices of fresh tomato which perfectly offsets the intensity and richness of the flavors. The portion was generous enough for one person who is very hungry or I can imagine sharing it and trying another dish too. Highly recommend ordering from this...
