I came expecting a hole in the wall diner expecting no frills eggs. I was super disappointed to find I was in a Filipino restaurant and not an American diner. That went away super fast. They could tell that I was a newbie to Filipino food, but they welcomed me like a warm grandma having you over for a meal. They allowed me to sample things I hadn't seen in combination or heard of before. They smiled when I struggled to repeat the names of what I sampled. It was SUPER DELICIOUS!!! I came out spending less than I would have at Denny's (which is where I was going to go) and has a pleasant time. I also ventured into the sweet treats and baked items. I had a jackfruit banana thingy (yes, that's my technical term) and it is to die for! I also tried an empanada. Baked not fried, light flaky crust and super delicious. -The 2 biggest misses were the hopia and turon. Hopia was dry and crumbly. Turon was just off and could use a little bit more filling inside. A fresh turon should have a little crunch as you bit through the sweet outer layer. These were soggy and chewy to the point it was hard to bite off a piece.
Overall, good, and better than any place I've been in LA and on...

Their Picadillo is absolutely amazing and it’s worth the price. I even forgot to take a photo because it was gone before I remembered to take one! Although it was a little soupy, the flavor, texture, and aroma will remind you of grandma’s cooking. I highly recommend eating this dish with white rice.
For dessert, of course, nothing will beat their Halo-Halo. I’ve tried Halo-Halo from different places and, by far, this is the best I’ve tasted. The portioning is good and you won’t have trouble mixing the ingredients because the ice is well-crushed.
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who haven’t...
