Honestly how is this 4 stars? I'm at a loss here. #1 Their website provides incorrect information. The tamales are priced at 2.50 online, but I arrived and they are $3.49 it's like "Surprise Surprise".
This is not just unfair, but literally false advertisement. I still promised my family some good tameles so I ordered 15 and paid 60 something. Then the cashier walks up to me and says that he made a mistake and that he doesn't have a flavor that I requested. 🙈
Listen. They we're very nice but the experience was horrible. Mainly because of my experience with the parking attendants.
When I parked, the attendant told me to get a validation, and the parking would be free (information I did not request) and he provided no ticket. (Not receiving a ticket striked me as odd but I figured it would work itself out) I simply provided the gentleman who I ordered the tamales from the same information that I was provided via the parking attendant and his reply was that if I wanted a validated ticket that it would cost me 2.00 dollars.
When I went outside to get in my car and leave (because there was something strange happening) I returned to my vehicle and it was -blocked in-( by an toyota van. I couldn't understand why someone would park like that. So I had to go over and the find the attendant and he requested a validated ticket. I told him that it wasn't free and that I was told it'd be free. He wanted like 10 bucks or something. I honestly don't remember, it totally isn't about the price. It's the fact that someone is lying and I am getting the run-around. Long story short. My niece and I walked all the way back in paid 2 dollars for this "free validation" (again these are the people who have the incorrect prices listed on their website & they also didn't have what I requested. You'd think they'd want to compensate me by providing a free validation. But nope. I went back and discovered that it wasn't a "random van" parked in front of my car. It was the parking attendants.
The sad thing is that the 4 Jackfruit tamales were amazing!!!! The sweet corn wasn't anything special. But my family really enjoyed them.
I won't be coming back here again. I'm sure there is another location that can provide this same quality of food, without parking attendants...
Read moreTLDR: Order the vegan pupusas and the pan sin pollo!
Loved everything about this place from the many vegan options to the staff ! I told my friend I would go vegan if he could find me a good vegan pupusa and he definitely did.
We ordered the plátano (ate to fast to take a pic), pan sin pollo, and both of their vegan pupusas de masa de arroz. Everything was fresh to order and the flavor was immaculate! They make their own vegan crema centroamericana from cashews and it’s to die for ! The non vegan crema has a very dístinct flavor and Mama’s captured it perfectly. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his pan sin pollo and couldn’t get enough of the consomé. I tried the vegan bean & cheese and revuelta pupusa with jack fruit. I was so happy to learn that they made the vegan pupusas out of masa de arroz! The salsa has the perfect consistency and the flavor complimented the pupusas. We washed everything down with a cold cola champagne. We were also offered a vegan Chile verde that wasn’t even on the menu yet! I can’t say enough good about this place.
The family that owns and operates the place was extremely friendly and really made us feel at home. They were so kind and willing to answer any questions we had. I was thrilled to learn that the mother of the family had developed many of the recipes we were able to enjoy ! I will definitely be back...
Read moreMy review is SOLEY based off my experience as a 4 year reoccurring customer (in store and at pop ups) The ONLY reason why I still even come here is because the VEGAN PUPUSAS ARE GOOD!
I understand that Vegan alternatives are going to be a bit more pricey no matter where you go as the ingredients are more expensive. BUT when I pay $5.75 for ONE PUPUSA and I can't even get enough tomato sauce to cover my one pupusa considering I usually always buy 3+ at a time. I think it's ridiculous to get told that I can only have so much sauce on my food because condiments are usually something that you can use as you please? AFTER YEARS of doing the same business, you should know how much condiments to be bringing to each event. Especially when you KNOW you're going to sell out.
The food is bomb, but wish the customer service...
