Dr. Kourosh Harounian — Local services in Los Angeles

Dr. Harounian is the best doctor (in any speciality) I've ever had to deal with. He's absolutely the best in his field and nobody can't come close to his top notch practice. I had a toenail fungal infection that I've had since I was about 15 years old (I'm now 38). I spent so many years embarrassed and hiding my feet as they got worse and worse and worse. I tried all sorts of remedies and nothing worked. At some point, I looked up podiatrists looking for help and saw Dr. Harounian's practice. I liked what I saw and his reviews were all maxed out (it's not a joke, everyone literally gives him the highest possible rating and I will tell you it is well deserved and more!). I scheduled an appointment at his Santa Monica office and to be honest...I was embarrassed and super worried about what would be involved to fix my toenails (all of them infected). Upon meeting the doctor (for the first time), I immediately got a very friendly vibe from him and he didn't sugar-coat anything. He gave me all my options and kept it very simple. Upon his recommendation, we decided to go with a cocktail treatment which involved laser, lamisil tablets, and topical applications. The first treatment involved trimming down my nails and getting a laser treatment. He then supplied me with lamisil tablets and topical applications for my toes. He gave me clear instructions on what to do and what to avoid. He then scheduled me to return about 2 months later for a follow-up appointment. Now, in the beginning, I strongly believed he would follow-up a few times and provide laser treatments possibly a few more times. Boy, was I wrong! I've actually returned so many times during this process (which started 2019 October) and every time I've been in his office...he quickly provides another Laser session on my toes. He's super involved and responds inquiries faster than any doctor I've ever dealt with in my life. During my treatment follow-up, I mentioned a pain in my left foot and he diagnosed that i had Plantar Fasciitis. He quickly provided a boot and instructions for relief and took a mold of my foot to provide a custom insole. A few weeks later after this and my Plantar fasciitis is completely gone. Unbelievable. Now, after 20+ years of toenail fungus...it was obviously a tough march to get my toenails fixed but if you follow the instructions given to you by the Doctor, he will fix any problem in the realm of Podiatry. I wouldn't be surprised if he could cure anything else if he specialized in other fields (LOL). In about 6 months since I started the cocktail treatment...My nails have literally all cleared up almost 100% from that nasty toenail infection and I now walk around around in flip-flops with no shame! :) It's August now, and I've actually had to deal with a few ingrowns because my nails are finally growing on my toes and thus had to call the doctor and setup an ingrown appointment. He fixed my first issue in the office with no surgery and checked on my nails again. At this point, the doctor doesn't even have to follow-up anymore but he always checks in with me. In addition, he set me up for Jublia at a discounted rate which before this I was looking in the realm of 600 bucks for a tiny bottle. Another detail in order to keep my nails healthy and strong.

He just did toenail surgery on one of my big toes and it was easy and pain-free. Again, a procedure that might scare people made so easy and pain-free by the doctor.

Please DO NOT hesitate to ever go see Dr. Harounian. He's hands down the best doctor in his field and his office(s) are all beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly. He's a very down to earth person and really tries to solve every problem that is ailing your poor feet and surrounding areas. There should be way more doctors like Dr. Harounian and I'm extremely happy (beyond) with all the help he provided and he finally cured my ugly toenails. Thank you very much Dr. Harounian! I cannot thank Dr. Harounian enough for what he has done for me. I came to him with over 15 deep, painful plantar warts that had made every step feel like walking on glass. They had spread across both feet, and I did not have time to mess around as I needed to continue training as soon as possible.

Dr. Harounian immediately made me feel at ease with his calm, confident, and kind demeanor. His sense of humor is outstanding and his honesty is refreshing in the USA medical world. He explained the procedure clearly, walked me through what to expect, and answered all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed. During the surgery, which involved careful cauterization and scalpel removal, he was precise and efficient while constantly checking on my comfort. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and takes pride in his work. He really enjoys it.

Recovery went exactly as he described, and he provided clear aftercare instructions and follow-up support, checking in to ensure I was healing properly. I neglected myself to follow through in my competition and Dr. Harounian saved me. I can walk without pain, and there is no sign of the warts returning.

There is a saying that people often write reviews if they are very dissatisfied or very impressed. I am happy to say that this review is for a very impressed patient. Dr. Harounian is compassionate, patient and very thorough. My experience with the doctor and his office staff was exceptional!! I called this morning and was greeted with great customer service that made scheduling an appointment painless. During my appointment, patient intake was painless and quick. As a physician myself, I do my own research prior to seeing any doctor. I felt I was in great hands when Dr. Harounian's consult echoed information I was expecting based on my previous conversations with others in his field prior to my visit with him.

In addition, I felt absolutely no pressure, no sales pitching and absolutely no feeling of a surgeon sharpening his tools in anticipation of a potential surgery. His office is not in the fanciest location but based on my experience with providing excellent healthcare to patients in underserved areas, I have learned to not judge a practice by its cover.

I am a straight shooter, down-to-business kind of person and I am not easily pleased. believe me when I say, that this experience was on point and exceptional. We need more doctors like you, Dr. Harounian. Thank you...
