This venue is great and carries potential for an enjoyable atmosphere, but my experience was a little short of that.
Simply put I was told purchasing the first 2 beers guarantees your 3rd for free. Cool! So the bartender asks what do I want as my second and I tell him my choice. Iâm still drinking my first but says he needs to put it in the system before closing out. Which is understandable, but brings me the beer anyway opens it and walks away. By the time I notice itâs the wrong beer and heâs gone for the evening. Poor attention to detail.
Secondly, disturbances happen and sometimes we get some âuninvited guestsâ at our pool tables. This is North Hollywood where people of all characters and substance abuse show up. Security here was a MAJOR fail. Stuck on their phone, not ensuring that the people in the back of the venue are also safe. From my experience last night we had an older gentlemen who was a bit of a character but kept interrupting many different tables while everyone else was trying to enjoy their company. This adult male who was âall over the placeâ wouldnât stop harassing us and eventually I was forced to walk this man to the front to get securities attention. Instead of security doing their job & realizing I am giving clues about this manâs âperformanceâ. The guard decides to say something as ridiculous as âwhy are you running up on me?â
Excuse me, but to the management of this establishment. This is just terrible. Why is the person who is supposed to ensure our safety and well being worried about us coming to him directly. If not him then who? The bartender? Simply put! The security detail in this establishment needs a great refresher on how to treat paying customers and clearly a better tactics response to incoherent individuals.
I am a common civilian diffusing a scene that their own security could not fulfill until I bring the problem to their doorstep.
I appreciate the manager on site who was able to listen to my concern, but as for the public you have the right to know everyoneâs personal experience in any venue.
The tables, sticks and environment were great, but the internal team may not care about your well being in their...
Read moreI moved to the valley a few years ago. I am not a very good pool player but I love playing and I like an intimate setting. So, Iâve been walking in and out of little bars looking for a place that had a decent pool table and was cozy (good for a woman to go to and not feel uncomfortable).
I love the stretch of Magnolia in the Arts District because it has so many great restaurants. I happened upon The Brickyard Pub and thought Iâd see what it looked like inside. I was surprised and delighted to see that it's dark. Thereâs a big front room with a big bar, large picnic table where people can sit and laugh and communicate. They have shuffleboard and darts... and in the back room, they have about eight large sized red top pool tables! âď¸đąđ The night I went in, it was only five dollars for an hour of play!
This place is a local gem. Great for out-of-town visitors - which is always a plus. Feels comfortable and safe; VERY strict bouncer out front. (Even if you're 80 years old don't try coming in...
Read moreListen this is a good ole' local spot for drinks and bar games, they aren't promising anything fancy and it's dark as hell...as a dive bar should be! They have SO MANY pool tables and a mix of ppl using them. They only do beer and cans, but cleverly they do "Cutwater Cocktails" and the Mai-Tai is 12.5% and was a local favorite and kicked my butt. So they get around the no liquor rule with liquor in a can drinks and it works. I love playing shuffleboard and darts here. Pretty great happy hour that last til 9pm, I think it's like 5-9 maybe. Buy two drinks, get the 3rd free. They also have a dude outside who cooks up bar food (on weekends mostly) like mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, spring rolls, hot dogs, etc. and he is the nicest so you better tip him a couple bucks cuz he is always out there hustling and feeding the hooligans! My vote is they get a "touch...
