Niko's is an adorable eatery in San Pedro, in the Old Town area. Parking is easy to find on the street. The prices are fair. What is not fair is being charged twice on my credit card. They knew there was an issues and should have seen to it without me having to call my bank only to find out they had done nothing.
The food was quite good, but I won't be back because I do not need the stress of worrying about whether I am being double billed. San Pedro is not our home town so I had to wait until the next day to find out that Niko's sent both bills though.
We had ziti and pasta alfredo and both were quite good. They were not great, but they were tasty. We also had clam chowder which was excellent. Their desserts are good and they have a full bar.
Niko's is very clean and has comfortable booths.
I was brought a bill and paid it. I was told it did not go through. I told them that was not possible, so let's get it handled. They came back and said it was fine. I asked then, did I end up getting charged twice because if so, I would not be pleased. They assured me that all was well, but would double check. They came back and said all was fine. I insisted they check again at close of business when they run all the money. They promised they would. The next evening, almost 40 hours later I called my credit card company to make sure all was well. It was not. I had been charged twice, with 2 different tip totals. It was not a pending transaction. Niko's had sent it though. I was forced to dispute the charge which was taken care of by my credit company the next day. Niko's had all my information, including my phone number and never called to apologize. If I had not been diligent, I simply would have been ripped off. Sad really. I would have gone back if not for this.

Read moreI am so reluctant to write this review because I really enjoy the food here. But I am so disappointed with the service. We called in for a delivery tonight (7/1/2022) at about 8pm. My fiance had the girl working there on speaker phone so I heard the entire call myself. We requested delivery to the crown plaza hotel and the girl took down all of our info, took our food order, told us our total, and told us it would be about 45 or 50 minutes, thank you and goodbye. So we wait , and wait , and wait, and no one showed up. I called the place back at 10:20pm (over 2 hours later) to inquire about our order. The girl tells us that when we were ordering we hung up, or got disconnected, and they never put our order through. Maybe they have us confused with a different order, but we did not get disconnected. Our order was completed, and understood as described above. All the way to the "thank you, goodbye." The girl also tells us that they were wondering if they should put our order through but that we never called back so they decided not to. That is terrible customer service. She had our phone number and if anything was unclear on their end, they should have called US back to make sure, because we were unaware that there was any problem at all, so why would we call back? She also tells us that the kitchen is closed so now we can't order anything at all. I don't know how this miscommunication was even possible, and their excuse was a total lie, and they didn't bother to even try to save the order whatsoever or make any attempt after the fact to save a customer. Read moreJust had a horrible experience with Nikos. My GF and I ordered for deliver with simple instructions on our meals. There was to be no cheese on my meal and no chips in the soup on my GF's meal. Of course once it was delivered and we sat to eat we noticed that these instructions were not followed.
I was was upset because I can not eat cheese. So I called and asked that they comp my meal since they obviously made a mistake. They said no and they could send me another meal with no cheese and a soup with no chips. I told them I did not want that as I did not want to wait for delivery again. They then offered me a store credit... I said no because I don't eat there often I just want my money back because I gave them money for something that I did not get. They refused.
I then asked to speak to a manager and the girl I was speaking to just put the phone down and started talking to her manager in the background. He refused to refund me $7.55 for my meal. I expressed to them that my girl friend has ordered from them several times and that are going lose a customer for life over $7 and they did not care.
I told them is it not customary for restaurants to comp a meals and she said that is not their policy. This is what I dislike about many of the restaurants on 6th st They are cheap and ok with mediocre service. This is why I often drive 15 miles to go out and eat instead of walk down the street.
Myself or my GF will never eat at Nikos again as they are more concerned with stealing $7 from me than keeping me satisfied.
