THIS IS JUST LIKE SOUTH KOREA! My favorite korean happy hour date gleefully exclaimed as we entered the wooden indoor/outdoor bar area. The tables are all thick and dark wood, heavily laquered. They've had their share of hite spills and soju shots, and have to endure the quick wipe down and reset. It feels like a tavern, but k-pop plays in the background, and there are lights and signs and many other things that make it feel so... korea. It's lovely.
Soju comes in a plethora of flavors (my favorites were lychee and peach) and are served in these beakers with external ice pockets (so the soju doesnt get watered down but stays cold). $12 for a small carafe, and $24 for a large. Us 2 small girls finished up 2 small carafes over our night.
The menu is also quite extensive, and has everything you could ever want in a late night ktown haunt. My favorite thing was the cheese eggrolls. Straight cheese, in lumpia paper, deep fried and sliced in half. Served with spicy salsa and 1000 island cabbage. So good. Esp if you like cheese. Maybe not so much if you're lactose...
The cheese corn is also so korean and so delish. Imagine a bulgogi skillet covered with sugar-sweetened corn, and then layered with shredded cheese. Cooking and melting in front of you. DELISH! They also have deep fried everything, chicken of all sorts, delicious looking skewers, and so much other food you won't be able to choose.
And like any good tavern, no clocks around, so you don't notice the time passing as you enjoy your company and good food and drink, until all the tables cycle through and you're still sitting there with your gals, enjoying your night out. Loved our night here and can't wait...

The food is fine, but the prices are wack. Between two people, our bill was $80 for one entrée and a couple of soju drinks. That is absolutely ridiculous. Soju is like $1 and the mixer is less than $5. No need to overcharge patrons for soju. ($25 for that) Our waiter's response was "Everyone else pays it." That type of thinking is unacceptable. If a customer is paying you but looking you in the eyes saying your prices are too high, you should seriously consider doing something about it. ALSO, THERE WAS SOMETHING HE COULD HAVE DONE. There was a 10% off your bill Yelp! check-in, which I happened to see AFTER I paid. (Shame on me) Poor hospitality on their part. Obviously, this joint knows they are overcharging, if they are giving a whole 10% off their whole menu to anybody who knows about it.
I'm pondering whether or not I want to get into the soju business at this point. If I charge half of these prices, I will still be up more than 1000%.
In conclusion, one of my major criteria on Yelp! is bang for buck and this place doesn't even come close to delivering. Yes, the place is in a plaza. No, there isn't parking. And I'm sorry. You wanted a party at your table and in your mouth for the $40 you spent? We don't do that here. (That could've been a steak dinner at a nice restaurant or more than 24 oysters, soft shell crab, AND a couple of drinks at EMC during happy hour. You get the idea.) Absolute garbage. I WON'T be back. Next time a customer's eyes nearly fall out of their head when they get the bill, notice the trend. People aren't as dumb as...
Read moreThere’s variety within the menu that’s great if you’re planning to drink. Great service and atmosphere but don’t recommend it to those who get overstimulated often. However, there were a few things that I didn’t like. Stir fry pork was great but I recommend eating it with rice. Not too sweet, there was too much gochugaru. It was more like eating kimchi stuffed with red pepper flakes and had more kimchi than the pork itself. 4/5 Fish cake soup was not all the best. As I was biting into the fish cakes, it tasted like it was stored in the back of the freezer and someone forgot the FIFO memo. 2/5 Popcorn chicken were bite sized pieces coated in panko. Not something that blew me away, but great if you want something crunchy. I wished they had sauces used for Korean fried chicken. I’m not a fan of the coleslaw on the side. The dressing tasted like they threw in maraschino cherry sauce or some artificial fruit sauce and mixed it up with mayonnaise. 4/5 I wanted to give this a better review, but considering the food experience and the hefty price tag, it doesn’t live up...
