Amber, the manager with blue hair, is extremely rude with a horrible attitude. I walked in and smiled waiting to be helped and the second she approached me she was so rude and spoke to me like I owed her something, which felt belittling. Although she was rude I was still nice to her when ordering saying "please" and "thank you," but her behavior was getting more aggressive for no reason. She was also very slow and seemed miserable when making my sandwich and when I realized she was making it wrong l asked her about it because I have never seen other locations make the sandwich like that. Her response was "That's not how it works here!" Once again, very aggressively. I asked if she can put the missing ingredients in my sandwich and instead she wrapped them in foil and just threw it in the bag. Not only was she rude to me and other customers, but she was also rude to her own employees. By the time it came to paying I was already fed up with her attitude and couldn't wait to leave. I asked for her name, and again, her response was aggressive, almost like she was mocking me. Interestingly, the corporate phone number was on the bag, so I spoke to them because that type of behavior is unacceptable. It doesn't take a lot of energy to be nice! Safe to say I...

This weekend went into Western Bagel thinking I’d just leave with a bagel. However, I met this youthful, gorgeous gentleman named Zach. I went to him and he asked what I wanted to eat. He knew that I was hungry the entire time. Oh so much empathy. He proceeded to take my order. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel. He asked if I’d like cream cheese. I fell to my knees as a warm tear trickled down my cheek. No one had ever known me so well as Zach did. The way he spread the cream cheese on the bagel reminded me how mother once did before she passed back in the Ukraine. I bit into a soft, pillow dough in which would never be classified as a bagel. The flavor otherworldly. It was an explosion of cinnamon, rasin, cream cheese, i could taste the love that flooded my tastes buds with joy. But Zach that beautiful, perfect employee, he is exemplary in the art of bagel crafting. I would never eat a bagel from anyone else ever again. I demand this young man in a higher position. A couple of years ago, Target opened a neighborhood store taking over about half of the upscale Plaza De Oro Shopping Center. WESTERN BAGEL, a long time resident, moved across the courtyard and gained an expanded facility with partially covered outdoor seating.

Western Bagel, a chain of ten shops, bakes a California style roll, that is small, dense, and well coated with toppings. Their bagels are more bread-like, without the yeast overtones of traditional New York style bagels. Several dozen flavors are offered. Except for egg and cheese coated bagels, many are vegan. Vegan and conventional cream cheeses are offered, as well as, veggies and animal proteins. A selection of traditional European pastries are also presented.

Sandwiches are served in clear plastic boxes for easy takeout.

I found the coffee to be rich and flavorful.

Parking is free, both underground and on a surface lot. Be careful, exiting these lots can be difficult.
