Woody's Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Woody's is good but I'm rating it 3 Stars for 2 reasons! The Sides- Are horrible. The potato salad is awful. Yea Its straight out the bucket from restaurant depot or something but pass on the potato salad. The beans. Ugh. Look anyone can open a can of Van De Camps pork and beans put it on the stove to warm it up and thats what they do. It looks like someone got the memo and put some meat in the beans but its pointless if it still taste like it came out the can. The least they could do is fine tune it with some bbq sauce, a lil brown sugar, molasses or something. If you upgrade ur sides to greens (which are just ok) or the mac n' cheese (which I never tried) it will cost you extra. The service- I would recommend to call ahead to save time but if you do check your order because most likely something will be wrong. But hey you saved time because if u walk in you will wait atleast 10 minutes even if your the only one in there. If its crowded your screwed in regards to the wait time. As far as clerk to customer interaction I have never had a problem with that form of service. They are always pleasant. BBQ. I go to Woody's because it has been most consistent. I always get SOS- sauce on the side because I like to make sure my meat is seasoned. They say the best BBQ needs no sauce. I get either the small ends dinner or the combo dinner with the sliced beef, link and ribs. I pass on their chicken because one time I got it, it was too pink on the inside for me. Price is pretty reasonable however their prices did go up especially on the lunch! No more $5 lunches they are now atleast $7. There is no dine in so you either eat in the car or take...

F Rating. If I could score -1 I would. I've never left a poor review but no place deserves it more than Woody's Slauson location. (There's a Florence location from what I saw online but this review is not for there because I did not visit that one.) Customer service was average, they also accept orders placed over the phone. When you get there you'll notice there's no place to sit and eat and no restroom to wash your hands before you eat. Mac n cheese is on the menu but I was told I couldn't order it maybe they ran out or it's no longer an option, I'm unsure why. This place also takes cash only. No card, mobile or contactless options which is unacceptable for a business in 2024. There is a card reader by front register which appears capable but the cashier assured me it is not and apologized for the cash only requirement also not being mentioned over the phone during the phone order. To further disappoint there is also no ATM present. My final disappointment was from the two men I bought ribs and links for who classified the taste as average and did not finish their food. Cleanliness is questionable. Their side door near food prep area is kept open to the parking lot, I figured the reason related to ventilation. The BBQ is decent. The ribs can be a little mushy at times but still edible. The sides are nothing special that come with the meal and they don't allow you to upgrade to the better sides even if you pay extra. The customer service here leaves a LOT to be desired. That is not a knock on the staff they are pleasant and friendly and do their jobs the best that they can it's the rules that management has in place that make me feel like they don't give a damn about me as a customer. It seems every time I go there I am told I can't have something I can't do something it is no way to run a business. I can't upgrade my sides. So if I want Mac n cheese and yams I have to buy everything ala carte. If I call my order in and I go to pick it up I cannot add or change my order in any way. So if I order my food but decide I want an extra side or whatever I can't order it! That is maddening it's not like I am asking them to prepare something special just add a side or whatever and charge me for it.
