We are frequent guests of this restaurant. I absolutely love the brisket pho, the chicken spring rolls, and the peanut sauce is the best in the city! Our daughter absolutely loves the hot cheeto mozzarella on a stick. We've never gone so close to closing time, and because of our last experience, we WILL NOT be returning. Saturday night after a long day (our daughter walked in the Highview Parade, we went to see Ballet Hispanico), we ended our day with a late dinner here. Our daughter was finished eating, my wife was was waiting on her food to cool off, (she ordered a little after us because she couldn't make up her mind), and I had a good 4 sips left of my pho. Right at 11p, at close, a closing worker walked over to us and asked for my family to eat outside since they were closed. We were facing the street and didn't even realize it was only 2 other people and us in the restaurant. Another family that was white was still sitting there, enjoying their dinner with no interruptions after my family got up to move outside. My wife went back in to use the bathroom and asked the family if they were asked to eat outside as well. They stated that they were waiting on food for one of their family members, and they weren't asked to eat outside. My wife was upset. I finished my food outside with our daughter. My wife went to the counter to return the food that she had taken one bite of before being asked to eat outside. The manager asked her for a receipt, as if we didn't just spend $63.82 on food. She explained what had happened. He wrote our phone number on the back of the receipt. Then proceeds to tell me he doesn't know when the credit will go back on the credit card and says I will receive a text when it's credited. When my wife proceeded to tell the manager that was her only receipt and not knowing when the credit would be back on the card, she asked for a copy of the receipt. The manager then said to her, "This is a $1 million company. They won't run off with $15." Needless to say, the manager didn't address the fact that we were asked to move outside AT close, while eating, and while others were allowed to stay. Both my wife and I are servers for multi-million dollar companies. This would NEVER be allowed to happen! It was disturbing, to say the least. A very unfortunate experience considering it WAS 1 of our...
Read moreI don't know of another place in Louisville that has such wonderful desserts across the board. I have had about 6 different pastries from here, and all of them have exceeded my expectations beyond belief. I am not a huge chocolate cake/mouse fan, and their German chocolate cake and chocolate mouse cake were both absolutely scrumptious. They were everything i thought they should be and not too sweet in the best kind of way. I would highly recommend their tiramisu and lemon berry cake. I thought the lemon berry was going to be dry but it was surprisingly moist and refreshing. Even better, every dessert there was only 6 dollars!! The portions were generous as well so that was a huge plus for me. We also tried a few different teas there as well as the banh mi (of course). The teas were all quite good and well priced. I am always happy with a Thai tea personally, and their honey milk tea had a delightfully full honey flavor. Though i have not had a banh mi from anywhere else i really enjoyed this as my first experience! The textures and flavors mixed well together and i appreciate how it wasnt too heavy even with lots of meat! The staff was also super happy and friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. The whole place was very nicely furnished with lots of live plants and very clean as well. All and all i think this place is exceptional. It stands out as more than just a trendy place to stop on Bardstown Rd. I was genuinely and pleasantly surprised how quality it was and i will be...
Read moreWent there for lunch with a friend, ordered pho which was pretty good overall, however, the customer service was terrible! Three girls standing behind the counter were looking back and forth at each other and smirking as my friend tried to ask some questions and order. My friend has an accent, as English is her second language. They were very demeaning and rude, told her thank you and have a nice day while she was still trying to order and ask questions! I honestly don’t blame the two younger girls because I think they were around 15 years old and obviously immature but the older lady in her 30’s who was the manger was the worst. They were literally looking at each other and rolling their eyes because she was taking awhile to order and didn’t know what the items on the menu were. They could not answer any questions about the food. We asked if there was a menu we could take back to the table to look over but were told no, so we had to stand at the counter to look. There was no line, so I don’t understand why they were so put out. It was so bad I asked them if something was wrong and they just glared at us blankly while smirking. They continued to stare at us throughout our entire meal even after we were seated. It was so uncomfortable. I wanted to leave and eat somewhere else but it was muggy outside and drizzling. The music was also blaring some kind of teen pop. Worst customer service I’ve had in a...
