A group of us stopped in this place after the Louisville street fair this past Friday for a drink. I had a whiskey pour, Old Forester 1924. I was excited, because I have been unable to find this whiskey anywhere else, even though I have been looking. I did not try any food. The atmosphere here was very comfortable and quiet. We sat outside at a table. The courtyard next door was hopping with a band but we chose this place because it was close enough to the action, but more subdued and peaceful. Ava, our server, was a dream and took excellent care of us, even though we were a little undecided and she had worked a double that day. I snuck inside the bar to have a peek at the selection of spirits, and I was blown away by the whiskey selection (which is my drink). They have an equally impressive selections of many other spirits as well. Juan, the mixologist, was busy working his magic making cocktails. I hear good things and must come back and try some. Patrick the owner came over, and we discussed whiskeys for a while. I feel as if I have found a true gem of an establishment here. I look forward to my next outing there, where I can spend a little more time and try a variety of pleasantries. I highly recommend this place for a top tier type of experience. I wish that I would have taken some pictures for this review, but there is no doubt that I will be back. I can get some then. You should come too! What do you say? I'll...
Read moreGreat atmosphere to have a drink but was disappointed by the service and the actual drink execution. I have had cocktails in many many many places in the world and was really looking forward to these, but unfortunately the descriptions far out weighs the reality. The place is small and was 1/4 full on a Friday night so we didn't expect to wait 40 minutes for our order to be taken after sitting down, and then with the totally expected wait of the artisan cocktail making it was way over an hour before actually drank something, and the food was served before we had our drinks. Also the water glasses were dirty and we had to get up and get our own napkins from another table as the waitress blindly walked past us many times, we wanted cutlery with our food too but eventually gave up trying to get the servers attention to ask for them and ate with our hands, the place is small enough for this not to happen. Fix the drinks and fix the service and this will be a really really nice place to have a nice experience in, and a place we would come back to...
Read moreWe tried The Jasmine Bar for the first time tonight. I don't know if it was an off night or what, but it was a terrible experience. The ambiance is nice and the cocktails were decent. But the service was just abysmal. Without a doubt the worst service experience I've ever had in Colorado. The staff just seemed completely indifferent to our presence. The four of us grabbed a table and we were ignored for 15 minutes before I had to get up and get the staff's attention. The drinks took another 15 (maybe 20?) minutes to come out. The cocktails were pretty decent, but we were completely ignored after our first round of drinks. Our table probably would have ordered another round if we weren't completely ignored. We were not the only ones disappointed in the service. A table of six came in and eventually left before ordering any drinks because they were exasperated with the lack of service. I have to imagine this place is really hit or miss based on the reviews. I guess we just came in on a "miss" night, but I'm not sure I'll...
