04/07/2022 Between 6:38pm and 6:59pm Order was supposed to be ready at 6:47pm I arrived early to Papa John's at 6:38pm. I had ordered through Uber Eats. I did not see a place to leave a tip on the app. Upon arriving, I stated my name and that I ordered through Uber Eats. I was asked if I wanted a receipt, I said yes. I noticed on the receipt it stated $0.00 for tip. I was told my order is still in the oven. Five minutes later a gentleman walks in to pick up a delivery. He waits five minutes and is given his order. He's asked if he'd like a Pepsi for his wait. Four other people came and left with their order. I sat waiting, no frown on my face just observing my surroundings. No gloves were used by the employees during food preparation or packaging. I noticed an employee wiping his nose and continuing to box and make pizzas without stopping to wash his hands in between nose wiping and food preparation. I received a notification on my phone at 6:47pm from Uber Eats stating my order is ready. I notice two boxes similar in size to my order sitting on the prepared orders shelf behind the counter that have been sitting there since roughly 6:40pm. 6:59pm arrives and one employee yells out "Is my mans still waiting on his order?" Referring to me. The cashier who gave me my receipt goes to check the prepared shelf and grabs the two boxes and asks me what my name is again. I tell her and she puts the boxes on the counter and says sorry. I replied "Its okay, these have been sitting on the shelf for about ten minutes now." Her reply was, "Then why didn't you tell me." - I then left. I was not offered a Pepsi or anything else. I was not rude. I did not constantly approach them asking if my order was ready. I let the employees do their job. I own a business so I like to observe how other industries operate. It's possible one of two if not both factors played a part here. One, the receipt may have been noticed and it may have been assumed I would not leave a tip. Two, I looked different from the employees as well as the gentleman who was offered a Pepsi for his wait. And/or perhaps three, it may possibly have been genuinely overlooked that my order was ready. I know I will not be returning to this location. I did not see nor did I experience customer service that was above and beyond let alone adequate. I know it's hard to find people that want to work, but there should still...
Read moreUpdated 4/2022: What a difference a few years makes! Pizza quality has seriously declined, many of the current employees at the store struggle just with taking your order and now after the final straw. After 12 years, they have canceled the one topping, $5 pizza deal for carry out. So many times I have told people how much I save by going here instead of a local place. Now the pizza I was getting for $6-7 is now $13. LOL I can go to my local pizza place and get a far superior pizza for that. I know people want to keep using Covid and inflation as crutches, not buying that here. Or their pizza anymore for that matter. Especially for a crappier product. Goodbye, it was nice while it lasted I guess.
From 2019: I'm an unapologetic PJs fan. This location in particular is very well run. I've been dealing with this one for well over 20 years, employees are very friendly and the pizza is always very good. Ordering a pizza online and having it delivered is hassle free, can't say the same about the competition for the most part.
Despite what news articles try to indicate, prices are very fair too. Especially if you are motivated to find a promo code which they have all the time. People in this city love to cry "shop local" so much, but of all the pizza places I've been to here, this PJs has treated me the best. I've been comped a pizza more than once just because of a mistake or comments. Sometimes get free extra garlic butters too. None of the local joints have ever offered me a thing despite several years of patronage. All I know is the big "evil pizza chain" is also paying their employees better than some local joints too, just FYI.
Not saying the local places all suck either, just giving a different perspective than what is heard from many of the keyboard complainers and...
Read moreTold my pizza and chicken wings would be ready after 20 minutes of paying for order. Go back inside and told the order has not even gone in oven yet! Said only two employees working. No one wearing gloves cross contamination of everyone’s food, touching of utensils and boxes. I watched the female ask the other black male who’s chicken wings were sitting on counter? No one answered her so she tossed them in the oven one wing fell on floor and she picked it up “bare handed and put it back on the oven tray”. I called her over and told her her those were my wings you just dropped on floor and put back in oven. She then asked if I had ordered pizza I said yes I want to cancel and I want my money refunded. She gave me a receipt saying she was sorry and money would be refunded to my credit card . Disgusting Papa Johns! I’ll never ever enter here again they are going to make people sick with lack of cleanliness and poor management. Go to Dominos as that is where I ended up going. Minus Stars here! Avoid, Avoid, AVOID this Papa Johns!!! Tracy McKinney, 02/10/22, 8 to 9 P.M. One hour wasted...
