Lucca Coffee & Eatery — Restaurant in Louisville

Just discovered this place yesterday. Wow! This European style café is my new favorite place. I had a cappuccino and an egg salad sandwich. Still thinking about it this morning — so good! I can’t wait to try more of the food and can’t wait to share with my friends.

Update: I’ve been back a few times already since my first visit. The place is that good! Everything I’ve tried so far has been absolutely delicious, and a little bit different from anything you can get around here. I love the staff too! Almost afraid to be honest about this place because I don’t want it to get too busy, but I can’t be selfish and keep it to myself. I want this place to do well so they can stick around. I almost forgot to mention how good the coffee/lattes are. If I lived closer, I would practically live there.

Another update: I have not gotten tired of the food here yet. This is the only place I’ve ever wanted to try everything on the menu, because nothing has disappointed. The only downside is I am now dissatisfied with the coffee everywhere else. Starbucks now seems so bland.

Added bonus - everyone that works here is so friendly & the place has a good vibe.

Update: This place was closed for a while and I was so sad - so very glad to see that it’s open again (under new management). I’m a little bit disappointed because it doesn’t seem quite as good as it was before, but it’s still good. For the prices, they are really going to need to work on maintaining high-quality to keep...

I have had croissants all around the world… even Paris. And this is absolutely… By far… The BEST croissant I have ever eaten!

That’s kind of funny for me to say… Because I don’t particularly like croissants… But because this was my first visit to Lucca, I decided to test something plain… Where I could really get a sense of the quality level.

I must say… I was surprised by my own enthusiasm. Not only did they perfect the layered texture… But it was ridiloudly, over-the-top light and fluffy. You can see in the photo I took a bite even before I took my first photo. Ha ha.

And, usually, I peel away the outside crusty layer before I even eat any croissant … But this crust was nothing less than perfection. I ate every bit.

Honestly the best part was the flavor I don’t know why the flavor itself sermed do amazing… Maybe their secret is the quality of the butter they use?

I loved it so much that after I scarfed it down, I went back inside to buy some for my family

On top of everything else, Lucca is adorable inside, the counter-help was VERY friendly AND efficient… and it has a very cute outside eating area.

I went to this place yesterday for a light lunch after working in the garden for a few hours and before another appointment, an hour drive away from Lucca. I was a bit anxious and stressed because I knew I had to nourish my body, but I also had to get to my appointment on time and drive a long ways.

The two people there, wish I had their names, were very kind and patient with me in my state of anxiety, were attentive to my needs, and made me a delicious smoothie and a delicious chia coconut pudding bowl, perfect portions, very appetizing appearance.

I appreciate them and this place. Hope to come back and have more time to appreciate them, the atmosphere, and the food.

Only downside, in my opinion, is that the spot is located in a kind of like strip mall situation, which is always feels kind of strange to me. I would recommend really really upping the plant life on and around the property to mitigate the effect of the...
