Read if you're traveling with pets, or interested in the level of customer care Best Western offers--- I was traveling with my wife, 5 month old son, and two dogs. I booked a suite through the Best Western app for this hotel - a suite just makes things easier to be able to keep the baby in a dark room by himself while he sleeps instead of being in the same room as myself, wife, and two dogs. I looked at the "hotel policies" and saw that they are "pet friendly" for a $25 charge. No biggie -- I know that some pets are destructive. But nowhere on the website did it indicate that only certain rooms are "pet friendly".
So I get the hotel and go to check in, and the lady says, "oh that suite isn't pet friendly. You can't have dogs in there". I told her that there was nothing that said that on the website, but she said that if I had dogs in a non dog room, I would be charged $300. So I asked to be moved to a "pet friendly room" thinking that I would be charged less than the suite -- nope. Same cost for a single room as the suite. At this point we are tired, and so I just go ahead and have her switch us to a "pet friendly room". At this hotel, the "pet friendly rooms" are on the backside of the hotel with all the smoking rooms. So even though our room was non smoking, you could definitely smell faint cigarette smoke in the room.
So long story short, I paid for a full suite, and ended up with a gross old smoky room on the backside of the hotel because I had dogs with me -- even though they are "pet friendly".
Here's my complaint -- While the lady at the front desk was courteous, she didn't make any attempt to apologize or offer anything to make it right. I get she's bound by the hotel policies, but she should be empowered to try to satisfy the customer. Why would I pay well over $150+/night to stay in a gross 'pet room' at this hotel, when there are MANY chains (IHG, Wyndham, etc.) that are truly "pet friendly" clean, updated, enjoyable, etc. Best Western is operating hotels like it's 2000, not 2020. To be honest, I'll probably never book a best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI specifically requested a room away from the highway and noise for our 3 night stay. They put us just off the main foyer for the purpose of being away from the highway. But, a large convention was held the last night we were there. As the company that held the convention cleaned up, they were so loud & obnoxious, laughing & screaming, I called the front desk twice, once at 10pm and once after 11pm. The first time I asked when the convention would be done. The lady said she could lock the doors to stop people from coming in, & hopefully they'd wrap it up soon. The second time I called the front desk, I asked if the employees at the convention were drunk, & if the hotel staff was going to ask the employees to be respectful & quiet, with the understanding they were in a "hotel." The front desk rep just sighed. It was evident he was frustrated, sounds like he had a lot of calls on the matter. This was so frustrating to me I almost requested a refund & went to another hotel. But it was our last night & I didn't want to transfer to another hotel on our last night. Maintenance upkeep was very poor in our room. Our hotel room sink leaked to the floor. Water would bounce on our feet when we brushed our teeth, along with the hot water not working on the sink. The exhaust fan motor in the bathroom would kick on loud & soft. The noise was outrageous in the mornings. Our hotel room cards deactivated themselves each day. The staff said to not keep them by credit cards or cell phones and we didn't, but it didn't make a difference. We even left my card on the night stand by mistake. When we got my husband a new card to get in the room, we tried using mine on our door & it wouldn't work. Breakfast is nothing to write home about, we decided not to eat it any of the mornings we stayed. Really displeased with this hotel overall. $145 a night for a weekend stay? I've paid $65 a night in downtown LA for traveling & been much more pleased with the service & "lack of noise!" I would discourage anyone from staying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed In a pet friendly room , all of the staff was really cool and nice⦠except for the manager there. My dog is a very small dog that is 15 years old and does nothing but sleep and stays by me wherever I go. I went to collect my deposit from the front desk and they said that a balance of $182.00 was to be paid , but the lady at the front desk knew just as well as I did that I was paid up because I was paying nightly in cash. She told me to come back after 3pm and the manager would return my $300 cash deposit back to me. So I came back and she shows me pictures of these deep scratches on the door of a very large dog. I saw these scratches and informed the front desk that they where they when we had checked in. So the manager lady tells me that is was my dog and that she wasnāt issuing my deposit back. I showed her my dog and told her I informed the front desk prior and she throws $150 at me and says that if I have any problems with it to call corporate. She was the most rudest person with absolutely no customer service skills. I saw the way she treats the employees there and itās awful. Please fire this lady she obviously doesnāt care about other people. She told me to go to hell. Anyways I called corporate, and I really hope no one else has to deal with this rude lady. Other than her ā¦. I loved the other workers there and our room was great. We even tipped our cleaning ladies. I hope I can collect my deposit back. Because it is rightfully mine. āļøāļøāļøš¤£Response to your reply: MY DOG is 10lbs. Her paws are as big as a dime. Her claws could NEVER make that damage even if she could possibly scratch the door. Second she is not even a more than 12inches tall. She couldnāt possibly reach those scratches. And third those damages where on the front door, not a bathroom door⦠so you have no clue to what your even talking about. I paid my PET fees in full per night I stayed. I have receipts for it. You guys are...
