I’ve been coming here pretty regularly for about 1.5 years.
I’m sad to be giving this review. Food and coffee are fine. It could sometimes be a miss with the coffee. But the customer service has come to a point that has made me feel uncomfortable to come in and should be unacceptable in any customer service based business.
Firstly, they got my order wrong (which is okay, it happens). As I was communicating with the barista, a platinum blonde barista pushed 2 hot coffees and it spilled over the countertop. I tried to save it but it was too late. The freshly made hot coffee spilled over my hand and burned. She did not apologize. She didn’t say a word. A kind man came over and offered to help clean up. She didn’t respond to him.
The barista I was communicating with made my coffee but it was still wrong (and tasted bad). I kindly asked if she could correct it again, which she did.
I said “thanks” and she said “yeah”. A lot happened all at once, so I’m sure they were upset, which I understand.
But this did not just affect me and my burned hand (which they didn’t apologize for) - it affected other individuals in the coffee shop.
I hope that they take this as constructive criticism - to improve their customer service and not as a jab at their business. I’ve been a long supporter of Brew’d Awakening and introduced my friends to this location. However, after today I am disappointed in their...
Read moreLeaving a review for Brew'd is long overdue. I used to go here every single day, but the only reason I don't now is because I drive a truck across the country as my job now. However, anytime I'm back in town, one of my first visits is here.
By now I have now visited many other cafes and the usual corpo coffee places, but nobody else does it like Brew'd. I keep it simple. A light roast coffee with hazelnut and oatmilk. Idk if it's where they source their beans from, or how the prepare it, but it (almost) always is the perfect cup. I will admit, a few times I have had some coffee that wasn't as good as it should be, but I don't really complain much. Sometimes it happens.
I also really love the Hawaiian mochi. Can't go wrong with a BLT, the Fancy Grilled Cheese, or the acai bowl either.
The atmosphere is really nice. They've always got some nice art on the walls, and good music playing. Space wise, it is a little small, but it is in an old building and you have to make do with what you got, though in the warmer months they have outdoor seating.
Ever since I found this cafe, I have been a loyal customer, and I believe I will be for as long as I can be in the area. Highly recommend. And if you only had them one time and/or you've gotten a coffee that wasn't quite right, give them another chance, or try a different drink or variation. I'm sure there's something...
Read moreUsually very delicious sandwiches, coffee and cookies. I hate to say anything negative about a small business but this was my favorite cafe in the area for years and the overall experience over the past few months has been BAD. I am hoping they will see this review and make some changes.
The typically delicious sandwiches are now lacking in quality and freshness. The sandwich bread and toppings have not been fresh. The meat seems like a lesser quality than it was before and they don’t put as much on. The cookies are stale.
The young staff is generally rude for no reason. And if for any reason you are unhappy with your coffee that tastes like hmmm idk maybe the milk went bad?… well they will make you feel pretty uncomfortable before offering to make it again.
Very sad because I love this place. Hopefully it is just temporary. I’ll try again soon and hope to update...
