Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Lowell

2025 Update: I am not sure what has changed. I'm hoping this review update can encourage change.

The last few times (five times to be exact) that I have visited DQ the food has been less quality than what I know it could be. The fries are soggy EVERY TIME, sodas are always poorly mixed and the chicken tenders are just gross. I dont have another way of saying it. They are not good. I always have to check my order now because I know something will be missing every time I visit. I know their potential & want to support the Lowell DQ but its worth it to drive to Chick Fil A when it's about the same price for fresher food now. If they can get things to be more fresh and crisp, they would be a great place to visit! Especially with their 2 for $5 deal.

Lethe me start by saying I usually really link this dq. In the past its had good burgers, decent fries and chicken. But I was thoroughly dissapointed in my two latest experiences. The first visit was for lunch. I ordered a burger, no mayonnaise, and onion rings. They had mayo on the burger, so I asked them to remake me one please. They politely obliged but took about 10 minutes. So I sat down to eat my onion rings while waiting. Every single one had that inedible skin you sometimes get on onion rings. I thought it was just a few, but when I couldn't eat the first three I tore them all apart and sure enough they all had skin. So I had to ask for a refund. The second visit I ordered a pumpkin pie blizzard which advertised "pumpkin pie pieces". No, no, no. I watched them. It was canned pumpain paste, never been baked, goop they slapped in and blended with ice cream them threw in some crust pieces. And that's exactly what it tasted like. Had a coupon for Buy one get one free Chili Cheese Dogs. I'll be honest, it wasn't my favorite but that's just my personal taste. The real stand out here is the amazing and welcoming staff that puts me in a good mood when I came in. I heard multiple staff members interact with guests and they were just so dang polite and positive, the attitude was infectious! I was certainly smiling on my way out. It's rare that I leave a review for fast food restaurants becuase generally speaking we all know what we're going to get. But what I got this time, was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere at this location rocks.
