Tater's Grill — Restaurant in Lowell

I asked for no cheese, I can't have dairy, but tomato and lettuce on the side instead as it was not included on the sandwich. I was charged a dollar which was fine but the tomatoes were mushy and not fresh. The lettuce was the hard white part of iceberg lettuce. I told the person, very nicely, at the register as the server was busy, I was only able to eat 1 slice of the tomato because of it being mushy and only a small part of the lettuce. He told the server and the server grabbed the ticket and rudely told him "You just can't take it off! It has to be approved by "mom" first!" I of course was taken aback by her rudeness. I waited about 5 min while she told "mom". "Mom" came out of the back and I was asked again what was wrong even though there was no reason to make me explain the issue again. I was not charged the dollar but get this, "mom" FOLLOWED ME TO MY CAR and said she didn't like mean people and I wasn't to come back! Over a dollar and nasty lettuce and tomato! How terribly RUDE! I of course had no intention of being a repeat customer as the food was also disappointing but to be treated so rudely...

Decided to go there for breakfast during our morning walk. It's under new ownership and the food was good, breakfast specials comes with hashbrowns and choice of toast or biscuits and gravy. When I told her I don't want hashbrowns she immediately asked if I would like cottage cheese and tomato instead, which was nice and appreciated. I just had eggs with sausage, cottage cheese, tomato and biscuits and gravy (I could only eat half of what I got, so full) eggs were cooked perfectly, and everything was very good. Husband got the eggs with chicken fried steak and it tasted so good. The waitress was attentive to us, we didn't have to ask for anything, she was in top of everything. They are open for dinner now and will have to try their dinner menu at some point. Will review again once I try lunch or...

So far the two items I have chosen this week have left me in a food coma afterwards. Not to do with the seasoning used in food prep but in the pure enjoyment of eating. The fried green tomatoes are cooked to perfection and the way they're meant to be unlike what you get at Eat My Catfish. The chicken bacon sandwich is not only delicious, it actually is larger than the bun!! Today I stopped in for fried catfish dinner and once again, I wasn't disappointed in the filet portion of the hint of lemon pepper in the corn meal mix. The fish is fried to a golden brown color (not just claiming but is) that has a light crunch that I almost forgot to use the tartar sauce. Ive been delighted with every meal I've gotten and I'm sure when I return in a few weeks/months, I'll enjoy whatever I eat as you will when...
