We have been loyal customers of Neshaminy Creek in both Dublin and Harleysville since they opened. We’re Creek members, frequent visitors, and have even rented the Harleysville space to host a large celebratory event because we truly believed in supporting this business.
Tonight, however, my family had an experience that left us feeling both shocked and disrespected. My husband and I arrived a little after 5:15 pm with our two young daughters, planning for a quick beer and an early dinner. The brewery was mostly empty, and we easily found a table.
Within the first minute of being inside, while my husband was ordering at the bar, the bartender scolded him because our three-year-old wasn’t sitting correctly in her chair (sitting on the armrest). Fair enough, I was already in the middle of correcting her, but it felt jarring to be called out so harshly less than 35 seconds after walking in.
Then, after I had taken just one sip of my beer, the same bartender (Nick) came over to tell us that our children were “too loud” and that “this isn’t working.” At that moment, my daughter was in my arms, quietly grunting as I adjusted her shoe—hardly disruptive compared to the general noise level in the room. I’m a parent; I know the difference between children being disruptive and children simply existing. In this case, they were absolutely not disturbing anyone more than the usual hum of conversation in the bar.
In total, we were there less than three minutes before being made to feel unwelcome. As longtime supporters, this was not only disappointing but also deeply disheartening. If normally behaved children are not welcome, then I would urge the brewery to reconsider describing itself as “family-friendly.” Sadly, I see we are not the only family to have had this experience. We will not...
Read moreI'm going to have to say, disappointed. We arrived early evening on a Sunday. Walked into two private parties that rented the space. There was no sign outside or any other warning that the bar was closed to the public. Was uncomfortable at best, being stared at letting us know we don't belong. No fault of the parties, blame Neshaminy Creek for the situation. A sign would have made a nice difference. Was a nice looking tap room.
Edit: We were told by one of the party members that there were two private parties. Still uncomfortable. May give it another try in the future.
Would also like to say it was a Saturday, not Sunday, as I had...
Read moreI’m sorry to say the reviews about too many kids are absolutely correct. I recognize there is nothing the brewery can do about that, but it unfortunately does impact the overall experience. Sunday eagles playoff game and I counted 15 kids, most of whom are under 5. Which means every touchdown/major play there’s multiple crying kids because of the loud noise. There were little kids touching other patron’s belongings and sitting on the floor where people are walking. A brewery that doesn’t even serve food is no place for your toddler, especially on a...
