I was really disappointed on my last trip to Freddy's. Not eating out a lot right now because I've been doing a keto lifestyle, but it was dinner time after a busy day, and I thought tonight we'll go off plan and splurge a little. Freddy's has always been a bit more expensive than other fast-food places, that's why it bills itself as fast-casual. But we paid 50.00 for one Milkshake, one concrete, a burger, and two meals, one a burger and the other a chicken strip meal. We were splitting the fries between 3 people. About 1/3 of our bill seemed to be the ice cream.
When we pulled to the window, it took several minutes to receive our food despite being the only car in the drive-thru. I know Freddy's cooks to order, but our wait seemed to be extended by long periods of employees standing idly while conversing and handling their personal cell phones while making food. The latter was admittedly a little stomach-turning. The girl at the window was also handling her phone while taking credit cards, which is potentially problematic. The kitchen itself looked well stocked and reasonably clean from the window, but the fact that employees were handling phones that were touching their faces as they were making food without washing their hands was off-putting.
When we arrived home with our three entreesâtwo fries, two waters because they were out of tea and certain soft drinksâand two ice creams for 50 dollarsâwe realized there was a strange smell emanating from the bag. It smelled like old grease. It is an almost fishy smell. I know they have fried fish sandwiches, and I thought they had cooked the fries in the same vat, but as we investigated, it seemed to be coming from one of the burgers. It didn't smell inedible, but it just wasn't the natural smell of the burger or what I am used to from Freddy's. Starving, I tried the burger, and it tasted about the same, but the smell was definitely from the griddle.
To round out our issues, we didn't receive a receipt from our visit which may have been related to the employee's telephone use, and I'm almost certain that one of our burgers was wrong as it was much smaller and seemed to be missing some ingredients from what we received in the past. I suspect this because we tried to order other menu items and were told that they were out of stock. I would assume we would have been told that they were out of those ingredients as well.
I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was too much. I enjoy Freddy's and hope...
Read moreNormally I hate to complain, but Iâve been here twice already and both times my order was made incorrectly. I asked for the #1 without any cheese or extra ingredients, and ONLY lettuce & tomatoes with a brownie concrete to drink. When they handed me the bag, I was given a completely dry burger with no vegetables, along with a sundae that I didnât ask for. Iâve also noticed that when you order up front, they automatically ask if you want cheese or not, but they never do this at drive thru which doesnât make sense. When I mentioned that my meal was wrong to the lady at the window she seemed annoyed along with an older woman supervising her as well. I tried to be understanding since I work in the food industry myself, by offering my apologies that they had to remake it, even though it was their mistake. I understand how difficult rush hour can be for employees and kitchen staff, but this service was beyond ridiculous and had to repeat my order multiple times. It is obvious that these employees are far from trained and evidently cannot fulfill simple tasks that their job entails. This is embarrassing for the business itself and needs immediate improvement and management needs to monitor employees who take orders based on the dissatisfaction of many customers including myself. There is no excuse for this kind...
Read moreMy husband and I ate dinner there last night first time customers. Not extremely busy. Food was good didn't care for the fries but no biggy. Cost us $27.00. Lots of young people working still not a problem. Here is the problem. My husband went to get our food and the floor was wet, very wet ..no signs up and he slipped. The young man who was mopping laughed or giggled...not funny at all. My husband has a bad knee. Instead of checking or even asking was he ok. He laughed. The only person who asked was he ok was the young lady who called out our number on the intercom. I didn't get the young man's name but I know exactly what he looks like and I thought that was very insensitive and highly unprofessional. Also, the large group of young customers in the corner who had the door almost blocked...and moved the chairs around and were loud...not a good look for your restaurant either. We will eat there again but probably use drive...
