Pretty disappointed in my visit. I ordered a turkey poorboy plus, sliced thin. The cashier insisted that I order a #1 and that she would charge me for extra turkey. I agreed. My order came out and it was a turkey sandwich with chunks of turkey that looked like they had been sitting under the warming lights for a few hours. I explained that that was not what I ordered. Two line people shouted from the back that was thin and that was as thin as they could slice it. Then several girls explained that they were out of loaf bread and all they had were sandwich bread. Then they explained that they could not slice the turkey any thinner because my serving of turkey was last of the turkey they had (which explains how it looked). They asked me if wanted something else and then explained that if I ordered a poorboy that it would still be on sandwich bread. I proceeded to order a brisket plus. The sandwich was not that great. They sliced the meat so thin that was shredded. Mixed with the sauce it may as well have been a chopped sandwich. The bread fell apart. Then during the course of the meal my daughter informed me that her bean and cheese taco wasn't that great. I asked her what was wrong and she stated that the tortilla was hard and then showed me how it broke apart.
The service was ok. Restaurant was in clean condition. The issue was there barely passable food we were served.
I did not bring any of this to management because for what we went there for there was no resolve. I wanted a poorboy, they were not going to be able to help with that and my daughter wanted a bean and cheese taco, a new tortilla was not going to happen.
.... Hopefully the inventory gets replenished before lunch the next day.
As for us, not likely that we'll be back. I'll stick to the Bill Miller's on Potranco, they are...
Read moreToday, I called around to several bill miller’s across San Antonio to find a pumpkin pie. No one had them so I started calling the locations outside the city. This location told me they had two left. I asked if they could hold one for me and they said yes. She took my name and I told her I would be there in about 35 minutes since I was coming from just north of downtown San Antonio.
I arrived and young lady greeted me with a walkie talkie. She radioed over Roger for a pumpkin pie and put me in the line to wait. I waited 45 minutes until a manager came and told me they don’t have the pie and that they don’t hold pies on the day before thanksgiving. I politely told him well you’re team member told me she would and for me to drive over. He said all the ones they had were for other orders that were already paid. I would of gladly paid over the phone but was assured I could come get the pie.
Frank the manager should of had his team better prepared and informed. He did apologize but that doesn’t make up the fact that I wasted a grand total of almost two hours driving there, waiting and then driving back to the city. All for nothing. For what he called one of his busiest days of the year he could of been prepared overall as I witnessed so many different people waiting 30 plus minutes for their orders. They could of said on the phone first come first serve or over the walkie talkie we don’t have anything for him. Frank did not demonstrate leadership with his team members running around all over the place or organization by equipping team members with important information for them to do their jobs. Perhaps Frank’s negligence is a sign of a larger problem with poorly trained managers at all...
Read moreFirst thing BBQ and fast food never belong in the same sentence... That's wrong. Food sadly like most Texas" BBQ" is not that great. Honestly I'd skip all of the BBQ items offered here and get fried chicken. Speaking of fried chicken from time to time its under cooked or over done but when you happen to get it when its done right its great. Salad from here is good as are the baked potatoes and I'll admit the apple pie is some of the best I have ever had perfect balance of sweet and tart and the apples have a heavenly texture and the crust is fantastic. Service is fast as expected from a fast food chain I feel if they were to take there time and focus on anything other the BBQ it would be a great place but that doesn't stop me from getting some fried chicken to satisfie my cravings or stop me from buying a whole apple pie which is cheap and can out rank many I have had from mom and pop bakeries.last thing I'd like to ad any time I have eaten at this place if an area manager was present they made the rest if the staff uncomfortable and seemed to harass them. The experience I had with the area manager at my local bill miller was terrible and I feel bad for employees that have to put up with I have to put up with management like that. Regardless of what I sent you some items of food here actually really good as mention apple pie baked potatoes and salad are all fresh delicious and simply fantastic surprisingly this place is done really well for as long as it has I said it once and I'll say it again BBQ fast food do not belong together in the same sentence however their fried chicken apple pie french fries fresh salads are fantastic and I would pick those over any other fast food...
