We got a glowing recommendation from a local, so we had to try Taste of Asia. Walked in just before lunchtime and it was pretty empty (on a Monday). This was a great decision because the dining room is quite small.
After asking the server for their favorites, we ordered and there was really no wait! I got pad park gang and my husband ordered pad thai noodles . The menu said both were spicy, which i like, though there was not too much heat overall, especially in the noodles. Just enough to make my mouth warm, not enough that i needed to slow down, which was good because the food was SO AMAZING. Honestly, a rare treat where we didn't expect it. Prices were very reasonable, even cheap compared to some places on the island.
Our server let us taste the Thai iced tea before we decided if we wanted it. I didn't get any, thinking it was too sweet, but my husband did. I wish had got it though because after diluting with ice, the sweetness turned out to be perfectly balanced.
Off-peak hours worked for us, the tastiness of the food made me rethink all of my culinary decisions from the past three days, and we will definitely come back. Don't...
Read moreI have experience in an asian/international kitchen, under a master chef. The Pad Thai : bland. Seriously the blandest I have ever had. No hint of peanuts, it seriously was like they popped diluted sweet and sour sauce on some rice noodles, tossed in some shrimp and called it good. The Bulgogi : the meat was rough, hard to bite through, there was hardly any sauce, and there was more spice than sweet. Bulgogi is a SWEET marinated korean dish, not something that is completely overpowered by the vast amount of ginger that was put in.
While these dishes were nothing like they are "supposed" to be, they were at least edible, and almost worth the price, but not really. - The saving grace was the service that was provided. Everyone was very friendly, and personable. The staff earned...
Read moreI love Asian food but this place rubbed me wrong. I bought three dishes and the one I pictured (Mongolian beef) was the best out of all of them. I am quite angry at the fact that I didn’t get what I ordered and was over charged. They make you pay extra for fried rice and and so on and I got nothing that I had to pay extra for. I ordered a little after 7pm. Tried to call them about the issue and they never answered the phone. Which annoyed me as they were still serving people and had a nice crowd coming in after I got my food and left to my hotel. Of course when I returned in person they were closed. So they just got free money from me. Needless to say check your order...
