So disappointing! Pictures in restaurant and reviews made it seem like this is a great place. Ordered the Korean bbq chicken. We received bbq on bread, very little to no chicken or slaw. Lobster bisque was more just a broth nothing thick or creamy at all. Bowl of chili was served more as a cup of chili not a bowl. Two girls working were friendly but had a hard time with communication unfortunately. I get it’s a tourist town but don’t waste your money on this place.
Response to owner: I never said working with the girls was difficult. As a matter a fact it went fine. I was referring to other interactions with customers. It just required patience. For you to imply that I’m racist is so uncalled for. Just because I gave your business a poor review based on my experience, you attack me by calling me racist. Reread what I said. I never said it was a problem for the girls, I felt bad some people didn’t have the patience. Your tearing into me speaks to your character not mine. It’s as if you hope I’ll remove my review. Makes me wonder how many other people you’ve responded to like this and that is why the majority of your reviews are great! FYI your BBQ sauce was great. But the sandwich was severely lacking.
Update #2 - you really are a piece of work! Do you put words in everybody’s mouth. You are definitely a disgrace to business owners everywhere by belittling customers who don’t find your business fantastic. I questioned if it was just me but lo and behold scroll back a little in reviews and you’ll find other people you treat the exact same way and apparently your own employees from what I read. So I’m guessing some people aren’t as strong willed and rather just delete comments than be harassed by you! Enjoy your restaurant while you have it with this type of personality and attitude it’s a mystery that’s it’s lasted this...
Read moreFirst of all this place is crazy expensive. $40 for two sandwiches and drinks. $15 for a panini-type sandwich is crazy. The sandwich was supposed to be brisket with pesto and it’s tasted like a hot dog. The other sandwich was one of the lunch box cold sandwiches and it was half a foot high. Very dry and had to be taken apart to eat it. It came with a cookie and we were given the tiniest one and it was literally rock hard and dry. The atmosphere was cute but the employees just staring at customers waiting for them to order is annoying. In fact my daughter pointed out the irony of the sign that says something like “eat like no one is watching cuz we aren’t…” Would not come back.
ETA: to respond to the nasty and super professional response from the owner. A good owner would apologize and appreciate the feedback. You are obviously new at this. It was $40 with drinks as I said. Super creepy to comment on my appearance while watching it back. You obviously have been stalking the wrong person. I never once complained. I was having a great time in the company I was in. Everything I said was true and it’s unfortunate when an owner can’t heed this opinion on stale cookies, gross meat, and employees who stare. Maybe it was the excitement of getting some business since there were only two customers there the entire time we were there. Oh and yelling orders at your employees isn’t very becoming of an...
Read moreWish I could give more than 5 stars, as we absolutely loved our experience here. We got into Mackinaw City at almost 10 pm and wanted something to eat before heading to the Dark Sky park. The only thing we saw that was open later than 10 was Dairy Queen, so we parked on Central Ave and started to walk towards DQ. We saw that Zachariah’s Smash Sandwiches was still open, so went in to ask. Zachariah was there and welcomed us in; he was hesitant to tell us that they were closing in 10 minutes, letting us know we were welcome to dine in and take as long as we wanted. We hate being “that” customer, so probably wouldn’t have even gone in if we had known, but he was so welcoming. (We did take our food to go, though, so they could close up on time). We weren’t starving, so got a grilled smash sandwich to share, along with coleslaw, a bag of chips, and a Coke. We chose the Up North. I had never had apple slices on a ham sandwich before, but it was so good. The hint of tart sweetness just made the sandwich extra tasty. The slaw was also excellent. If we’re ever nearby in the future, we’ll definitely...
