Chevos Mexican Restaurant offers a dining experience where the flavors blend harmoniously, and the ambiance is carefully curated. Let me share my experience with you, focusing on the salsa, rice, and Burrito Michoacan.
The salsa stands out for its thickness, consistent texture, and an infusion of flavors that mainly highlight the fresh taste of cilantro. Combining these elements creates a satisfying sensation for your taste buds, setting the stage for an exciting culinary adventure.
Now, let's talk about rice, which can only be described as a culinary masterpiece. It's soft, fluffy, and bursting with flavors. Despite being a simple side dish, it is evident that great care was taken in its preparation to make it truly exceptional. The rice serves as an introduction to the main course.
The Burrito Michoacan with steak truly showcases culinary finesse in every bite. The steak's tenderness requires enough effort to cut through with a fork, but no knife is necessary. The steak is enveloped in a special ranchero sauce and is manifested in small, succulent strips within the burrito. The flavors and spices in this crafted recipe create a delightful experience that immerses you in the rich heritage of Mexican cuisine. The traditional white cheese covering the burrito perfectly complements the variety of flavors, resulting in a satisfying sensory journey.
While the homemade guacamole adds a touch, there was a minor inconsistency where one portion had an avocado chunk that stood out. However, overall, the flavor palette was exquisite, providing an enticing glimpse into Mexican gastronomy's diverse and storied history. One thing worth mentioning is the temperature difference between condiments like avocado, lettuce, and pico de gallo contrasting with the piping burrito. Although it didn't significantly affect the experience, it's something to note.
In terms of service, my interaction was characterized by promptness and courtesy. Initially, there was some eagerness to take my order quickly, which made me feel slightly rushed. However, there was a shift after I expressed my need for time to look at the menu and placed a drink order. The waiter calmed and relaxed, leading to natural and unhurried interactions.
The restaurant maintained standards regarding cleanliness, freshness, and orderliness in its environment. The atmosphere at Chevos Mexican Restaurant is enhanced by music, creating a comfortable setting for relaxed conversations. There is no need for elevated voices or hushed whispers here. As you enter, a lack of discernible aromas prevailed, and this olfactory subtlety persisted during the wait for the culinary creations to grace the table. Overall, the ambiance provides a backdrop for your gastronomic adventure at Chevos Mexican Restaurant.
In conclusion, Chevos Mexican Restaurant offers a culinary experience with carefully crafted flavors, artistic presentation, and a thoughtfully curated atmosphere. It is definitely a choice for anyone in search of an authentic taste of...
Read moreIt was my first time ordering at the restaurant and I purchased rice and beans and the total was much higher than I had calculated so I asked the cashier why and she said they do a mandatory 10% to go fee. Funny. This mandatory 10% to go fee isn't mentioned anywhere on their website and when I order online it's not there at all. I do think the cashier simply added in herself a tip and this is a problem I have with Latino restaurants. The cashiers add in tips without asking. It's happened before.
Regarding their food the rice and beans are good. However, sometimes the beans are total mush. I get it refried beans have lost some texture but their beans are nothing but paste. I don't like that. However the rice is flavorful and hot. I have also tasted the beef burrito and it simply had far too much liquid. Why is everything super wet at this restaurant. I wanted a burrito. Yet it was dropping with liquid. The beef was super soggy and wet. Not good. Please visit Memphis TN Tacos Nganas restaurant to see how they make their burritos. Insanely thick hearty and good. Not sopping wet with barely any filling.
Last i had the loaded baked potato and i could tell it had been stored with some meat or food item that infused itself into the potatoes because I barely tasted the potatoes and I kept tasting other weird flavors. It wasn't good and I could only eat a portion of it. Overall the restaurant and food are OK. The...
Read moreThis isn’t my first time coming to this place in fact it’s my third time and this last time was just horrible. When we were ordering our drink my daughter said she wanted one type of drink and instead of offering alternatives our server just said we don’t have that. I had to ask her what type of drinks did they have so she told us after that my daughter ordered horchata and I ordered another drink and not even a millisecond after that she immediately rushed to the table next to us bot sparing us a second look. When she came back she brought us out a wrong drink and kinda slammed the drink down (which isn’t just a one time thing), I proceeded to ask her what drink that is and she said tamarindo and my daughter says I ordered horchata so she takes it back and gets her the right drink. After that we order our food and it seems like she has an attitude when she gives us our food letting it drop on the table and not even checking on us. The food was burnt and greasy, the steak my daughter got was unseasoned. When she check back on us all she said was I’ll bring you the check not even offering a Togo box for the food that was left. She had an overall attitude like she didn’t want to be...
