The Monkey's Paw Tiki Lounge — Restaurant in Macon

My husband and I traveled from Augusta, GA to Macon, GA to pick up a purchase we had bought in that area. We stopped to eat at The Pearl restaurant and the service and food was amazing. Give it 5 ⭐️!!! THEN when finished, we had made a reservation to the TIKI BAR down stairs in The Pearl called THE MONKEY’S PAW. We had heard about it from friends who have gone there before and it came highly recommended. Need to call ahead to make a reservation to get in since it fills up fast. It has amazing atmosphere that is both high energy and relaxing at the same time. The owner, Tony, is fun and engaging with the customers. Super nice guy! The tiki cocktail menu has so much to offer and you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. The drinks are amazing. 🤩 Each reservation slot is for an hour. When the hour is up, it’s time for the bar to empty out for the next group to move in. It’s a really good system because the whole bar fills up everyone is thrilled to try the amazing drinks. We found many in there to be return customers and regulars that keep coming back again and again. If you haven’t tried a tiki bar before, each and every one has its own tropical feel or spin on it and its own special vibe. Drinks are served in fun tiki mugs and dressed so pleasing to the eye. But the TASTE of these is what keeps customers wanting more! For those that are die hard tiki fans, they can be spotted in their Hawaiin shirts and fun tropical accessories and to them, everyone is Ohana (family). Give this place a try!! You will be...

Update: (1st review was our experience at the old, upstairs location) This was a great date night experience! I loved that the space is limited for a few people at a time and you can hear the bartenders tell the history of the tiki lounge. We love to bring friends from out of state here. It’s a cool vibe.

(2nd review new downstairs location) The new location has a lot of space. For me, it didn’t give the same vibe and ambience that I really enjoyed from the first location. When you walk in, you check in with the hostess, walk into the other side of the restaurant where there are chairs and tables for you and your partner or party to wait. When the light turns off, that means you can go down the stairs. There are a few round tables and extended bar seating. I am sure this is due to it becoming more popular and bigger parties but something places, in my opinion, should keep the same settings. That’s what makes it unique! My favorite! This bar is super awesome! The cocktails are prepared to perfection. The detail put into each cocktail is what keeps me coming back. It’s an intimate little bar that gives you a feeling of a tropical escape. The service and attention to detail is 5 star. I’m excited about trying every cocktail on the menu! The menu give you a chance to explore drinks out of your comfort zone. Date night, solo or a small group of friends this is a nice spot to stop before or after dinner.. or just to wind down after a busy work week. The creativity of the decor as well as the drinks.
