The first and most notable item from this experience, Is the phone call I had with Ailia. I called it what had to be an in opportune time for anyone working in service. I called Just sunset was finishing on a beach side restaurant. I could tell they were busy from the clamor in the background. I first inquired if the restaurant would be appropriate for my three-year-old. Ailia Assure me that people bring their kids to the restaurant all the time, and then went a step further to inform me that the restaurant can get loud in case I have a sensory sensitive child. I don’t have a child in that category, As a former therapist, I can’t begin to describe how awesome I think it is that someone was considerate to think of that. She then reassured me. It was safe, and that she was only informing me in case it was something that would affect me and my family specifically. That is absolutely far from what would be expected of someone answering the phone especially at a busy time.
My second question was About how long it would take to get a table. And then she told me up to 45 minutes, but then explained to me that often times it will be quicker and that I should try to get to the restaurant sooner but not to rush me but to ensure that I don’t miss the table.
There was never a doubt in my mind that I was dealing with an incredibly kind and empathic individual.
Upon arriving, I was able to meet her and her attitude in person only slightly outshined that which she showed me over the phone. And I say slightly, because it is hard to shine brighter than that. She was accompanied by Sara at the desk. They were both incredibly kind to me, and they walked myself and my daughter to our table.
After that, I met our server Kat (sp?). She was so kind of my daughter, as was the other ladies that I encountered. She was incredibly patient with me and my family as my wife and mother-in-law are from Mexico. She even said de nada when my mother-in-law thanked her. My mother-in-law said to me she thought that was really cool and appreciated it
On top of the ultra unique and wonderful personality of Ailia, And the sincerely appreciated personalities of Sara and Kat, The food came out in a timely manner, and there was never a moment where anyone in my party felt, disappointed or disheartened, that we had chosen to dine at Caddy’s
Truly deserving of a sixth star
When I’m back in town next year for the Renaissance fair, you can be sure that I will be visiting again!
A huge thanks to everyone there, including the two gentlemen I spoke with afterwards! I appreciate you all!
Come throw tomatoes at me at the Ren...
Read moreWe wanted to enjoy some beach time and drinks after John’s Pass. We saw a sign that said free beach chairs and umbrellas. So we went to park across the street. As my husband was paying for our parking I walked with our 3 year old to the ocean. I saw a closed umbrella and two chairs. I assumed it was a first come first serve situation and I tried opening the umbrella. Then a guy came up and asked if I wanted chairs and umbrellas. I said two chairs and an umbrella please/ thanks. The guy brought one chair and opened the same umbrella I was already trying to open. Then I said ‘thanks so much’ and he promptly said kinda coldly- ‘I work solely on tips. People usually tip $5 per chair or for the umbrella.’ I was taken off guard. All the big signs say the chairs are free. So I was expecting to help myself to them anyway. I said to him that my husband is coming and would tip him with cash app. My husband did tip him (Rusty) and went in and bought himself a drink. We swam for awhile, and then wanted to sit and relax. My 3 yr old daughter had been swimming awhile in the hot sun and really needed shade so we were sitting on the chair and she was drinking water I brought. Rusty came up and took the umbrella without saying anything. My husband was in the restaurant buying us a drink at the time and He came back down and was confused too. So we went to rinse our feet in the ocean and Rusty took our chairs to put away too. I watched him take the towel we accidentally left behind and drop it in the sand- rudely without saying anything. It must have been till 5, but no signs say that. He also said nothing just started taking them away. We would have stayed and bought more at the restaurant, but the whole thing was really off putting. The people sitting next to us also got their chairs taken and commented to...
Read moreI will start with the good Britt the bartender was very fast and really good. I left her a great tip!! But if the guy downstairs would have stopped me before I parked and said you must pay 5.00 a hour just to come eat and drink here. When the food is sysco right out the can or bag. Please spice it up if you use sysco!!!! The owners of Caddy’s own like 5 different places and they charge 5.00 a hour to park!!!!!!! If you walk then the drinks good!!! If you drive go to a place like Crabby’s on the pass!!! Got a great view, food and drinks!! The best thing is the parking is free because they are not cheap and think they should charge paying customers 5.00 a hour to eat. Your food takes 30 mins so you are paying to wait for your food!!! What if service is slow say takes 3 hours you got 6 people that is 15.00 dollars for bad food!!!! But maybe that is why it was so slow and there was so much parking I guess people already know to drive to a place that does not charge for parking like 5.00 a hour!!! I learned the hard way when i walked downstair and we got in the car ready to leave and some young kids starts banging on my window on my passenger side. He is very lucky I didn’t get out the car! Should not bang a someones nice car window!!!!!! After you messed up and didn’t stop them from the start!!! Find good employees that do there job and not bang on a 60,000 dollar plus car window like he did!!! I should of never handed him 5.00 dollars my girl said you should of just left when I rolled the window back up!! SO PLEASE GO TO A PLACE THAT DON’T CHARGE FOR PARKING LIKE CRABBY’S OR...
