I recently had the pleasure of dining at light cantine .From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the restaurant's elegant and inviting ambiance. The décor is a beautiful blend of traditional Chinese elements and modern design, creating a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

The seating arrangement is spacious, while still feeling part of the lively environment.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, each more delicious than the last. I started with the dim sum , which was a delightful assortment of steamed and fried dumplings. For the main course, I chose the spicy hot pot custom - It has wide variety of different vegetables seafood and meat to choose.

I was greatly disappointed with spicy hot pot which serves broth(soup) cooked with beef and chicken (together). As im not beef eater i chose veg (no other option) . It tasted like a tomato soup 😒not worth to try .If don’t eat beef or vegetarian i would high recommend to try different dish other than hot pot dish.

The service is exceptional. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure a pleasant dining experience. They were quick to refill drinks and clear plates, all with a genuine smile.

Light Cantine is a hidden treasure! We have been a few times now, and it’s been great for both dine in and take out. The staff are so friendly (especially Stephanie and Vivian) and the decor is always adorable! It’s a very cute place. The food is always fresh and really good, and the tea is really good as well. This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Michigan. Having lived in Texas with near a heavy Chinese population, the food here is as good and could easily compete with the restaurants there. We drive 25 miles to go there, and we look forward to our visits. The malatang (spicy hot pot) is really good—it has a flavorful broth and nice options. The spicy crispy fried chicken is really amazing and craveable, and the sauce for the cucumbers is really tasty. They also have dim sum and other options you do not find at other locations. They have really affordable options or fancier ones. Definitely recommend trying this place out for dinner, tea, or the extensive dessert menu!

Recently visited to pick up an order & service was unwelcoming. I approached the counter & realized the cashier was taking an order over the phone, however there were 2 other workers behind the counter. I said “Hi” and they both just stared at me. I awkwardly waited 3-4 minutes at the counter while the two coworkers stood there staring (I smiled at them both multiple times during this 3-4 minutes because what else could I do? It was very VERY awkward being stared at with no words or expressions). When the cashier was off of the phone I got my order & left. As I’m walking on the side of the building to the parking lot I see curtains move on one of their windows & I see the face of one of the workers… he appeared to be watching me walk to the car ? He didn’t seem to care that I saw him watching me. This entire interaction left me feeling uneasy at best.
