After a long day doing yard work my wife and I decided to order take out for dinner for convenience sake. We ordered a pizza, sandwich and pasta bowl at 7:30pm with an estimated delivery time of 8:15pm. By the time 8:45pm rolls around their tracking app still showed no progress made on our order so I decided to call. I held on the phone for 20 mins with no answer and by that time it was about 9:15pm so I decided to just drive to the restaurant. Upon entering I was not greeted by the staff and there were four other people waiting with the same issue as me. After waiting five minutes for someone to greet me or say something I finally just yelled back to the single employee working to cancel my order. He immediately came over apologized and said he was the only one working and he canceled my order. He didn’t offer any kind of restitution for the inconvenience of the whole matter which was disappointing. I’ve been eating at this location for over 20 years and this is the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever experienced here. If the store is short staffed they need to either turn off online ordering or properly update expected delivery times. Also the fact that I couldn’t simply cancel my order through the app is outrageous considering they wouldn’t even answer the phone when I called. After it was all said and done I spent two hours of time waiting then traveling to cancel this order ultimately not even getting my food. Also I couldn’t even report an issue through the app after the order was canceled to even try to get dominos to make things right. Read moreThis is THE WORST Domino's EVER! Nothing but problems every time. I waited about 15-20 minutes before going into the restaurant to pay (estimated 34-44 minutes), they said it was going to be 20 more minutes and 40 minutes later, I finally got my food. All after watching a train wreck of a staff who wasn't paying attention to what went where and watching them have to throw away several pizzas because they either weren't made right or not done all the way (or perhaps it was "tossed" too thin and didn't cut right). I used to work as a manager for a competitor, and am fairly patient when it comes to ordering pizza or food, but I'm finally to the point where I feel I need to say something about this location. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing here and they act clueless as can be. There was a customer who was in there before I was and I think he had to have his food remade. My food came out before his, based on how the boxes were grouped I figured out what order was mine...plus I got a notification that my order was ready. I saw his come out. And instead of helping the large number of customers in the store, the worker who was running front counter answered the phone instead and was on the phone with the customer for a solid 10 minutes. That's WAY TOO LONG to be on the phone when customers are in front of you, especially when their food is ready and they're wanting their food and wanting it to stay hot. In the past I’ve ordered car side delivery from this location. Not only does it take incredibly long, the staff at this location have a habit of marking the order “complete” on the order tracker to avoid the free pizza guarantee even though your pizza is still being made.
Tonight I ordered a pizza while still in downtown Columbus, hoping it would be ready to pick up by the time I made it to Canal Winchester. Not even close. I arrived at the location, and they did exactly what I described above. After 20 minutes of waiting in the parking lot with my order marked “complete”, I went inside to check on my order only to be told “They’re getting ready to put it in the oven”. So I waited another 30 minutes and asked about my order again, and was told by a different staff member “They’re getting ready to put it in the oven”. The manager seemed to have almost no control over the situation, as groups of employees stood around while she ran the oven/expo station by herself. She was making rude and obnoxious comments to them, so I honestly don’t blame them for not listening. After an hour and a half of waiting, I left the store without receiving any food.
This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant and I will never be returning to this location. If you care about the quality and consistency of Dominos pizza, I would consider retraining/changing the management...
