Pleasantly surprised.

The Parkway was a fixture of my childhood. I dont specifically remember eating there, but I remember driving by, and being inside. At some point, there was a fire, and they rebuilt, looking very little like the Parkway of my memories. I've only been there 2 or so times since then, and frankly forgot they existed.

A friend and I were looking for a low key place to sit and talk over coffee without dealing with the usual Starbucks type crowds. We ended up here. Originally we were just getting coffee, but our server talked us in to getting some homemade lasagna to take home. It came with soup and salad bar.

I ate the salad bar in the restaurant. It wasnt particularly impressive-- missing some items, the lettuce looked a little old. I saw someone refreshing it after my trip.

I took home the lasagna and some chicken and dumpling soup. I was really not expecting the quality of food that I got.

The soup was clearly also homemade. It was a little bland, but the chicken was tender, the dumplings were fresh, it was wonderful on a cold winter night.

The lasagna wasnt necessarily authentic Italian, but it tasted exactly like something your American grandmother might have made. Fresh ingredients, heavy, comfort food.

I ordered the Gyro pan handle actually two of them one for myself and one for my daughter. After placing the order through a delivery service I called and asked if they could replace the feta cheese with american cheese. The staff member that answered the call was very polite and said yes we can do that. When I received my order not only was there feta cheese but the hash browns looked as if they cut them up and boiled them definately wasn't hash browns . It was suppose to have scrambled eggs on top but instead I got what appeared to be eggs that was just cracked in the skillet and mixed around with eggshells included. The Gyro meat was very dry.So yes I'm very disappointed because what if my 10 year old would have gotten the one with eggs shells in it I wouldn't be surprised because they was the exact same order. This place use to be great a year ago .I'm not sure what happened or who is in that kitchen but they need to be removed asap. When I spend 40 or more dollars for some breakfast food I expect to get what I paid for and what is pictured. This is not the same food that I was ordering a year ago. I'm very disgusted and disappointed.This is ridiculous and should have not happened .I will not be ordering...

Short answer EAT HERE! I haven't given 5 stars before now. So, let me tell you. Food, im not sure how they got our food done ao fast! My order was literally perfect!(I'm picky as HELL!) My food not only looked like a picture but was also, very delicious! I haven't had biscuits and gravy at a restaurant that were good. These definitely are. The gravy was great and the biscuits were perfect. The eggs were just the way i try to make them myself. They really were busy when we went in and i don't know how they still managed to be so precise. Looks, the place was very nice looking everything was in great shape and very clean(including the restroom). Service, we were greated right away and shown to our table by a friendly smiling man. Our server was a very friendly and competent young lady, service with a great attitude and a smiling face, she was great! This upgraded family restaurant is the place to go. Reminds me of how family restaurants used to be. Thanks to the owners and the staff. Finally a real 5 star place! Hopefully I'll be back to try lunch or dinner 🍽 and see if my high expectations and pickiness prevail or if I'm...
