It is always difficult distinguishing your standard enchilada, flauta, tacos, or chimichangas between the various Mexican restaurants splattered across the Texas landscape. It seems to be the bright colors or the catchy names that are real draws rather than the actual flavor profiles. Rancho Grande was very satisfying, with an inviting staff upon entering to a decent, stomach-filling dining experience. The food was the 4 stars I am entering and just that... 4 stars, for a slightly better than usual dinner. Our main server (older, tall gentleman) was our only area of mild discomfort. I wasn't even seated and I was immediately asked what I wanted to drink, feeling like I was a squeezed-in duty between multiple tables. Meals were placed quite abruptly on our tables with a robotic-like "anything else, ok enjoy" delivery. The bus staff, however was quite attentive with a pleasant demeanor. But the main waiter was juggling 10+ tables and whizzing around without so much a smile. As I placed the last bite of my chimichnaga plate in my mouth, my first chew was interrupted with an "excuse me" as my plate left the table faster than my second chew began. It appeared as if the bussers and other support staff could only assist if he permitted. Again, our meals were above average, it was simply our server's overall "vibe" that negatively impacted our experience. The atmosphere was appealing and prices were fair. We would definitely "consider" dining at Rancho Grande again, but we may hope for...

The highlight of our dinner was undoubtedly the beef fajitas. Cooked to perfection, the beef was tender and bursting with flavor, served alongside vibrant bell peppers and onions. The sizzling presentation made it even more enticing! Wrapped in warm, freshly made tortillas, each bite was a delicious explosion of taste.
And let’s talk about the salsa—it was truly exceptional! Authentic and spicy, it brought a delightful kick that elevated the entire meal. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, as the freshness and depth of flavor were outstanding.
What truly set Rancho Grande apart was the impeccable service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They guided us through our choices and ensured our dining experience was flawless from start to finish.
The churro cake with ice cream is a must for dessert. You will thank me later.

Read moreI have gone to this restaurant for years. Took my mom on Friday 5/24/19. Added small order of guacamole, but when she went to eat it--it was sour and smelled funny, asked me to taste it too. The brown color we know if from the air, but the taste is because it is possible it spoiled. When we brought it to their attention, the server brought us another bowl, which was exactly the same thing-- they took it off the bill then, but was not apologized for the inconvenience. They acted like we were lying about the taste and smell. My shrimp enchiladas had a funny taste and smell too but I don't eat shrimp often, thought it was ok, mom tasted it and said it was ok. But for this whole weekend I have been sick to my stomach. Doesn't matter from what dish, fact is whatever I ate there was spoiled and gave me food poisoning and cost me money at the urgent care. I will tell everyone I know now to not go here and will never go back after the rude service and...
