McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Maine Township

Tried giving this place another chance from the last time I visited here. Fool me once, shame on me! Argued with my daughter that she didn’t need a cookie. Needless to say she won and I ordered one to my mistake. Can’t believe they’re pushing burnt cookies out of this place and charging people for them. I’d be embarrassed to give them away. Let alone sell them, and not feel bad about it. Then added an optional pickle to my other daughter’s order and didn’t receive it. She literally orders things and sometimes only eats the pickle. So two unhappy daughters. Plus hate how they’d add a cold item with a warm item in a to go box(baked potato and salad). Doest’t make a whole lot on sense….. Need I say more. Fool me twice. Well…..you shouldn’t be able to fool me...

Love me some McAllisters! Fantastic food, great business model.

But: This is a great reinforcement of why I will NEVER get on board tipping at a fast food restaurant. Lack of hardwork in kitchen, lack or organization or communication from order to kitchen. I think it's funny, how I've got to press 6 buttons asking for a tip before they even make my order. Then they forget to make my food, and sent me on my way without soup.

I despise food industry as a whole lately, because of this "tip everyone" mentality. That is for sit down, and after you eat, after you receive the service. I can't say how many times I've been burnt tipping, gotten home and missing 10 dollars worth of food, and out the tip for which they certainly don't deserve.

My first time trying this place, never heard of it, but decided to stop by because of a T-Mobile promotion. Restaurant was empty, but at the register, there was no one. One guy that seemed to be an employee was eating and talking on the phone. After a few minutes, he approached me to ask if I was coming to pick up an online order. The employee did not look professional at all. He was even carrying a backpack like he was about to go, but he didn't. I guess that was his style. My sandwich was good, but nothing like Wow. I must come back. Would I return? probably not unless there's another deal, the vibes were not that good and food was...
