First time here on a Friday night. There weren't that many customers when we were there, this place needs more support! Overall, it was 7/10 and I will definitely be back soon.
We were surprised that dine in came with table service. We assumed it was similar to other places where you would just order at the counter and bring to your own table. I didn't get the server's name but he was very courteous and friendly. The antecuhos appetizer caught my eye but he suggested antechuchos mixto, which we did end up ordering. It came with antecuchos and tripes and intestines, mote corn, a single slice of lettuce and some very spicy (but yummy) salsa. Though we enjoyed the apppetizer, for $23 I believe there could have been a bit more generous serving of the tripes/intestine.
The rest of our party ordered the peruvian chicken, 1/4 chicken entrees with sides: fries, yuca, and cole slaw. There was also an order of frito pescado. I'm a dark meat kinda gal, I enjoyed the juicy chicken though I expected a slightly bigger portion compared to my past peruvian chicken experiences. The fries were piping hot and crispy, I enjoyed the cole slaw, and my family enjoyed the other dishes/yucca. The yellow sauce was great and there was also another type of darker yellow sauce that I thoroughly enjoyed. I noticed the yellow sauce sides were barely filled to 50% of the container so I hope it may have just been an off night especially if you're paying extra for those sauces.
Service was really great. I've had bad experiences where you were either ignored or the server was overbearing during slow times. For us, we had great service throughout. Our server checked on us without being overbearing. We had our little one with us in my baby carrier and I was caught off guard by the extra sincere care and consideration we were shown when multiple people asked me if we needed a high chair for her. We didn't need it but it felt really welcoming.
Bathroom: very clean, love that there was a baby changing table.
I've been to multiple Peruvian chicken places but I think Taty's has definitely set itself apart with a variety of entree options, good flavor, and great friendly service. I'm rooting for...
Read moreI’m genuinely disappointed as I write this because I really wanted to give Taty’s Chicken the 5 stars it deserved after our first visit.
We came on a busy Saturday evening for dinner, and everything was fantastic. Our server, Jordan, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made our first experience truly enjoyable. We ordered the ceviche de pescado, which was absolutely incredible. My husband had the pan con chicharrón and pollo broaster, both of which were fresh and flavorful. We left impressed and excited to come back.
Unfortunately, our second visit—just two days later—was the complete opposite. We brought my mother-in-law, hoping to share the same great experience, but were met with poor service and noticeably lower food quality. Our server this time didn’t greet us, forgot to bring silverware and sauces, and seemed overwhelmed since there weren’t many servers working.
We ordered the ceviche mixto to share, and the first red flag was obvious: a mix of fresh and frozen seafood. While the fish seemed fresh, the shrimp and calamari were clearly frozen and lacked flavor. The dish was also missing salt, which was a recurring issue across the board. I ordered the jalea mixto, and unfortunately, it was more of the same—frozen seafood mixed in, with dry, cold yuca on the side. Everyone at the table agreed that their dishes were underseasoned and disappointing.
It’s frustrating to see such inconsistency. Our first visit set the bar high, but the second left us questioning whether we’d return. Quality and service really do matter—especially when they vary this...
Read moreWe came today with my mom because of a ticktock video I watched. What do I think about the restaurant and the food? ambience: I loved the modern style and how clean and new everything looked, you can tell they put effort and showcase the restaurant as well as their peruvian roots. Service: Our server was Jose, he was welcoming and very kind, always with a smiling face, however you can tell he needs to have more attention to detail in order to have a 5 start, but overall his service was good and brought the food on time. Food: I have mixed feelings about the food, taste was good, on point actually, however the portion of protein/carbohydrate was to way disproportionate to my liking. Sometimes less is more. The Arroz de mariscos even when the taste was rich, spicy and flavorful it was like a scavenger hunt trying to find the seafood in a mountain of rice. the causa acevichada it didn't looked the $23 we paid for it, again the amount of causa was to much in proportion of the amount of ceviche. In conclusion flavor a 5 the quantity a sad 1. In my opinion if they decrease the amount of carbohydrate it will do more for the dish than a mountain of food that will disappoint the gourmand. I think is a worth place to go eat peruvian, the people is nice the ambience is clean and welcoming and the food even with my mixed feeling I enjoyed every single bite.
Keep up...
