It's been a really long time since I last graced the hallowed halls of 5 Guys, you know, back when their prices weren't higher than a giraffe's toupee. I had written them off, like a bad ex-girlfriend, vowing never to return. But like a moth to a flame or a mosquito to a succulent and beautiful sexy human, I found myself pulled back into their beefy embrace.
The thing with 5 Guys is that they're not your average fast food joint - they're like the artisanal, gluten-free, fair-trade hipster cousin from a food truck. The establishment isn't designed to look like your typical restaurant. Probably that is where it realys the comparissons against fast food and why is more expensive. 5 Guys joint is more like an industrial warehouse where they manufacture flavor explosions, and boy, do they deliver on the flavor front!
That burger tastes like it was kissed by the burger gods themselves, with a flavor so divine, it'll make your taste buds do a tango - like the time Spongebob cooked up that crazy Krabby Patty to challenge Neptune himself. And those fries? They're the culinary equivalent of a perfect sunset - golden, crispy, and oh so satisfying. Sure, the prices might be a bit steeper than your average drive-thru, but let's be real, when you're eating food this good, who cares about a few extra bucks? It's the equivalent of spending a little more on a first-class ticket - you're paying for the experience, not just the transportation.
So if you're in the mood for a burger that'll make your taste buds do a happy dance, and fries that'll have you contemplating changing your name to Potato, do yourself a favor and give 5 Guys another shot. Just make sure to bring your appetite and your wallet - this is one date that's...
Read moreSo daughter and I were debating on where to stop for quick bite. Knew we were close to the Lancaster Fruitville Pike 5 Guys and already loved their fries. Daughter was on the fence. So stopped for fries. L.A. (as he is known) was at the register. Exemplary customer service from moment you step in. While waiting for fries, I observed Brian on the grill, constructing picturesque, commercial quality burgers like a master at a Sunday cookout. I convinced my daughter to stay and we were both glad we did. An experience at this particular franchise location superior to almost any fast food site I have ever been at. The best, continuous cleanliness practices I have ever seen, on top of the food prep artistry and customer service. Frequent hand washing and glove changes. Measuring with temperature probe. Wiping all surfaces and scraping the grill during customer lulls. The visible kitchen area and dining area very clean and reassuring.
Unfamiliar with the menu, I miscommunicated my order and forgot to ask for lettuce and tomato. Both Brian and LA apologized and offered options to resolve including replacing the burgers. I did not want them going to all that trouble but they clarified that to mitigate cross-contamination potential, the burgers I had already taken could not return to the kitchen area. I was impressed again. We agreed on simply lettuce and tomatoes on the side. They provided them in a covered tray (again, contamination control). They were farm fresh. Lettuce chilled and crunchy and tomatoes - perfect.
Highly recommend this location. It’s a guilty pleasure made less so by superior training, work ethic, and...
Read moreWe love Five Guys, however the woman working today is rude and extremely unprofessional. She is very loudly complaining about the number of customers compared to there only being three employees. As we were trying to order she shouted, “There’s only three of us, they can wait.” She is telling to the other two employees that there isn’t anything they can do when someone calls off, they just have to deal with it. But the entire restaurant can hear her. She is making it feel like the customers are an unwanted annoyance. I get it. Two people called off and it makes it harder for everyone else. It’s not 5 star dining, its a burger joint, but could we eat without hearing the loud complaining between the employees so we can enjoy our lunch without hearing how she will not...
