So disappointed to see the poor food inspection report from March 8, 2021. I hope the restaurant addresses these violations immediately.
Sushi One, 1961 Fruitville Pike, March 8. An employee's open beverage container (twist cap variety) was in the sushi preparation area. Cigarettes and a lighter were found on the shelf in the storage area during the inspection. Raw chicken thawing at room temperature on the draining end of the three-compartment sink, which is not an approved thawing method. The person in charge does not have adequate knowledge of food safety in this food facility as evidenced by this noncompliant inspection. Items (crib, infant medicine, infant bottles, toys, play pen, clothing and food) for an infant, all in the front of the facility and at the sushi bar. A peeler and chopper with old food residue. Soap was not available at the hand-wash sink in the sushi preparation area. Miso soup was held at 77 F in the steam table rather than 135 F or above as required. Raw shell eggs stored above surimi in the reach-in cooler. Raw chicken thawing next to two bottles of soap on the three-compartment sink. Raw shrimp was held at 62 F in the front area in a tub rather than 41 F or below as required. Cardboard, aluminum and plastic wrap, which are not smooth and easily cleanable, lining shelves, tables, the rice cooker and the side of the refrigerator. Chlorine chemical sanitizer residual detected in the final sanitizer rinse cycle of the low temperature sanitizing dishwasher was less than 10 ppm, and not 50-100 ppm as required. Food crumbs and debris everywhere in the back food preparation area and on the floor of the sushi...
Read moreFor sushi in Lancaster it’s the best place we’ve been to so far hands down. Without a doubt. We’ve been in PA for about a year and before this were in NYC where they’re a sushi place on every other block. Lots of great sushi places to choose from. Here, not so much so when you find a great place you go there often. I’m happy to write a good review about this place because I want them to last. The restaurant business is a hard business, and sushi in Lancaster is taking quite a chance. But they know what they’re doing. We started with edamame and I ordered 2 spicy crunch tuna rolls and one to go because it was THAT good. My wife got Bruce’s roll which is crab meat, shrimp, tempura, and avocado. I wish I could try it but I’m allergic to shellfish but she said it was amazing and ate all of it, which is unusual. My wife said she loved it. Our waitress was so funny and bubbly. She really added to the experience and put us in a great mood. The bathrooms are clean and had great decor and the ambiance of the entire place was mellow, traditional and relaxed. You can see the chefs slaving away with their traditional...
Read moreCame here with my boyfriend for dinner at 7pm on a Friday. Sushi One had a decent amount of people sitting there eating. Immediately when we came in the waitress/hostess greeted us and sat us down. I need to make a recognition to this woman who I’m not sure is the owner/manager/regular employee but she was doing it ALL and with a smile/positive attitude! She was so funny too, very personable with customers including myself. She did not have a moment where she was standing there doing nothing. She was hostessing, waitressing and taking care of takeout orders! She is the reason I will return (aside from the food being delicious too). I have read other comments saying about the positive attitude and motivation this woman had in their experience as well. She also asked us if I had any allergies or preferences when we ordered our food.
Wish I would’ve gotten her name, I encourage everyone to come visit! Food...
